Searching I would word it differently if you allowed me.

Everybody hears, but few listen.

That is some are only automatically using the sense, others digest what they hear.

It is like water than runs over a rocky bed, it just wears it out. And water that runs over fertile soil that uses it to germinate the seed.

Which one do you prefer to be? Let me know whether I caught your meaning.

 I left out one word in mine...."can"....you "can" listen as well as you hear...I do, however, love the visual that comes with yours. I suspect you know my answer to your other question already. You did indeed catch my meaning.

You are right you are only looking at now, this moment in the History of our current civilization. It reminds me of the discussions at the time of the Korea and Vietnam wars.

You know to understand certain events we need to have perspective and lots of historical information.

In those two wars we reacted like a child that is told a spider fell on his head. The Cold War with Russia was at the beginning and we took the bait, we started to hit our head with our hands and the more we did it the more we got confused and with a feeling of imminent terror.

You cannot take a moment in a culture and make decisions on what see at that moment.

All Middle East and part of Africa culture, economy and politics have been influenced by what the western countries did to them. Read "The seven pillars of Wisdom" written by D.H.Lawrence. He is there more or less at the starting point of the mess.

Quran principles were changed by the Imams that saw what was happening. Remember that Muslins use to love and see the USA as a dream society.

Also keep in mind that in the Muslin tenet the religion is one with the government. The Law is one for the faith and for the civil matters. Same as it used to be in the Hebrew tenet in which the High Priest was the only judge for all situations in the daily life.

The Hebrew people evolved and learnt the convenience of separating both aspects of Law in order they could enter in the world trade community.

Our Founder Fathers were the first to go for a secular society. Many countries followed their example. That is not the case in the Muslin culture.

It is not the President of the country that yells "we are being invaded", it is the job of the religious leaders to be alert and in turn to yell "we are being invaded". That does not make the Muslin culture more or less dangerous than ours.

As to weapons they had at the time of our invasion I have not found one transcript either from the UN or the NATO where weapons were found. Lots of accusations but not one proof. On the contrary, the Inspectors all said there
was nothing they could find.

In a society where everything is solved by the power at the top all they need is a rifle that can shoot. Well maintained and with ammunition. They shoot you whether you are guilty and if not as an example to others.

The most rebellious tribe in that area are the Kurds.what do they use for centuries? Knives! And they are so good at it that the CIA sent not too long ago, agents to be trained in the difficult art of knives.

President Obama was right in not leaving soldiers. What can they do?

Besides who sells the weapons to the Middle East or any other area that wants them for k*****g American soldiers? The USA Military Complex.

stan3186 when I read commentaries that show that very little time have been spent in searching historical information, it makes me very sad. It shows me that the brainwashing of our Education is working too well. It also shows me that if we do not start using all our brain power to think and evaluate events for what they are, my beautiful country, my beautiful descendants and the future mothers that sacrifice a large part of their lives and their careers to take good care of their children are only preparing cannon fodder for the interests that love the profits that wars produced.

stan3186 and whoever else needs answers to his/her questions, please ask me I will let you know whether I can help or not with what I know. After all what is the reason of studying if we do not share it.

There are many books that can give a clear explanation of current events but you need to read them.

Remember also that any man was not born as an adult. He started as a microscopic cell. Grew under infinite number of circumstances that influenced his mind and also his physical development. Apply the same reasoning to a country.

To judge a man and his actions you need to know about all those very personal circumstances and if possible about his ancestry. You cannot judge him just by one action. Otherwise you do not know him and the reasons that caused that action.

Education is the only road that will make a peaceful world for all of us.

You seem to think very highly of yourself and your knowledge. I suspect you are not as smart as you think you are. Tell you what, go to the below link and actually learn about the Muslims and Sharia Law and then you can speak as if you had actual knowledge once you finish the short course. Until and unless you do this and actually sit through the 10 hour of teaching, you are no more of an expert than anyone else, including me. I have been through this course and several others. So if you are serious about learning instead of "tooting you own horn" then follow the link:

stan3186, you have needed to go to a short 10 part course about Muslins and their laws to learn what they think???

Sorry, we function in different circles. I go to the Library and nowadays I also use the Internet, but books are my source. Two types of books, the ones written by historians that are contemporary to the time I am researching and the others by writers that lived the events or writers who later on did an in depth analysis of the events.

We used to have very informed reporters who did investigative reporting.

It is a pity that nowadays reporting is a lost art. The interests or 'powers that be' do not like informed people and have banned most of our newspapers or bought them and use them to tell the mass(yes, that is how they qualified all of us) about only what happens in the entertainment world and sometimes one to two articles on the real world very tainted by their interest to keep us happy and stupid.

Thanks God that in that form of Art -entertainment- there are still very intelligent directors that keep on producing films that one day will become 'artifacts or documents' for the anthropologists who want to know what happened in our confused world of today.

No, I am not intelligent, I am curious.

No, I do not know everything although I try to learn the most I can in the very limited time that a life nowadays give us.

And yes, I am angry when i***tic things cross in my way and take part of the limited time I have left to keep on learning.

I went to the site you show in your comment. Only one question for you, did you investigate who prepared this 'very short' course about a civilization that has roots in older civilizations than the ones we chose to sustain ours? Also, who is paying to keep on going on the Internet?

I wouldn't be surprised to find out that it is tax payers money. Yes, we have hungry children in our country but we waste the tax money in this type of project.

Also, did you remember what I said about 'brainwashing' procedures? You needed to watch to this course?

Why didn't you go to a Library? I know, you prefer digested intellectual food!

Sorry, I cannot help you. We have already lost you. God bless you!

What makes you think the library is any more reliable than a series of videos that actually do a better job of informing. Do you know the reason for the civil war for instance. Depending on what part of the country you grew up in will determine what you learned when you were in school. I come from a long background of teachers and principals and believe me they are not all equal. Neither are the books they teach from. Research the source of the videos and you will discover that the person teaching the course, which is 10 hours long is an expert in the subject matter. I anticipate you are just too lazy to sit and listen or you have ADD.

sta3186, when you read a book you may find concepts you do not agree with. That is normal. It is your interest for the t***h what determines what you need to research more and make you able to find the balance among all the information your brain is receiving.

The difference between a book and a video is that the video can be manipulated to convey wh**ever the producer wants. The book is only the written words. You are in charge.

I can deny I watch many videos on archeological sites, President's speeches, or maybe a conference about some subject I care for.

At this time I do not have access to the most advanced microscopes so I depend on videos.

I am not an astronomer, so I do not have access to the wonderful telescopes they use, so I depend on videos.

But for the general info variety, I go to the books.
