This time, they backed off when they heard the sound and came running when I called them. The bulldog got bit a few weeks ago, so maybe he learned his lesson.

I dunno...ever see those vet shows where they have repeat offender porcupine pooches who seem to have it in their heads one day they're gonna get that damn thing and keep showing up with faces full of quills...or dogs that get skunked?

Sometimes I think it's a p***e thing for them.

That's a big one. Is it dead in this picture?

Archie, Did you ever consider moving? We had a lot of copperheads, a few cottonmouths and a couple of eastern diamondbacks in my development in South Carolina. With the exception of the copperheads the other snakes seem to have disappeared.

My wife had a Corgi who got skunked and/or snake bit what seems like every year. The last time he got snakebit, he had 5 bites on his snout. The little legless turd just wouldn't give up!

Hope you dressed it for dinner. Be careful when gutting that you don't break the bile sack or the meat will be ruined. Also cure the hide but leave the rattles on after getting rid of the head. The hides make good hat bands or on a board make an interesting wall decoration. Meat is meat.

Not if it's seasoned right. It's pretty good. I didn't bother with this one. It was 11:30 at night, and I needed to go to bed since I have one of those...(gulp) jobs.

You know the Democrats have to change their masscot to a rattler. Then I could say another Democrat bites the dust. Oh well I guess we have to put up with the jackass

YEP! JACKASS STILL WORKS!

I had a 6'6'' canebrake shed on a board under Plexiglas we used for show and tell when we put on snake shows at work. We actually used the snake, named Mikey while he was alive. Put him back where he lived when done with him and could go back and get him when we needed him again. Mike
