In my response to bilordinary, I mentioned how America is losing its advantage in a global free-market. As a result Americans are losing many things not the least of which are jobs. In the post-Reagan years we also saw a gradual repeal of worker protections that did not stop with Trump. So even those of us that are able to retain jobs we are not being protected the same way our parents were.

From a worker standpoint I would say a better comparison would be America 1930. And just like in 1930 capitalists are not interested in protecting workers. Why would they be when they can get the same amount work out of unprotected and therefore cheaper workers in Asia?

So yes, there is currently, in America, a rise in socialist ideas, which is to say there is an appeal to the Republic to provide for the people what big corporations and global investors refuse to provide, just like there was in 1930. And just like in 1930, these ideas range from revolutionary (a necessity for c*******ts) to the moderate.

Back then it was the moderate progressives that won the race by offering a compromise that preserved private ownership of business but offered concessions to the workers as negotiated with labor unions. Unfortunately, this may not be so easy this time around because American workers don't have the same leverage due to the abundance of foreign labor that didn't exist in 1930. In fact that's a primary reason why labor unions have died down.

The way I see America now, there are two popular reactions to the effects caused by the fact that American workers have lost value in the global economy...

There are progressives and democratic socialists that understand the situation and are looking for public solutions that they know private industry can't offer and there are the people who DON'T understand situation and cling to the hope that private industry will still give them a ride.

Then there's the 1% that own the industries and outsource jobs for better returns issuing narratives to those who do not understand the situation, telling them that ANY appeal to public interest is... c*******t. Not because it's true but because 40 years of Cold War propaganda has conditioned us to h**e c*******m whether we understand it or not and that's a useful thing for them.

Countries that tried to protect their industries from this game of market manipulation were coerced by American diplomats to open their markets. If the diplomats didn't work, as was the case in places like Iran and Cuba, they ran the risk of American hostility and were often forced into agreements with the Soviet c*******ts as the only remaining option.

This is where the world divided into capitalist nations and c*******t nations.

But since the mid-70's America has been hitting it's resource peaks. (The cost of extraction exceeds the market value of what's being extracted). I'm not just talking about minerals here, I am also referring to the higher cost of labor in the U.S. which leaves investors with smaller profit margins.

Meanwhile, the rest of the world changed too... Soviet power died and developing countries that have yet to reach their peaks started to emerge from the third world attracting capital investments and eventually gaining the advantage of free-market capitalism.

America is finding out for the first time what it's like to be on the short end of the "free market" deal. As a result there is a populist uprising that is basically saying "OK, now that we're losing the game we don't want to play anymore".

Trump has tapped into that in a big way and he has become the first president to oppose free-market capitalism with a stack of big-government trade regulations and a litter of ripped up contracts. Unfortunately, our government is largely influenced by wealthy investors that have no loyalty to America and will invest wherever the returns are higher. Because of this mainstream politicians are continuing to support the same neoliberal system... the same exact world order that once made America great and is now allowing it to decline.

Most references that I am seeing among the populists to the "NWO" is directed at these mainstream politicians... Bush, Clinton, Obama, etc... But now you can see why I would not call it a "new" world order and you can see why I would certainly not call it c*******t.

Now, in my initial response to this statement I didn't see the positive aspect of what you're saying here. I have to remember that you are probably being as honest as I am and we just don't see the same conditions. That being understood, I like the positive message... Use my privilege to help others. Absolutely.

So, I'm going to take that advice. I will use what leverage I have to help my fellow Americans rise up to the level of the more progressive nations (some of which I have lived in) that offer better healthcare, education, better living standards and this is might hurt but... better freedom. I feel the same way. But Germany isn't a country of freeloaders. It's actually a very industrious country of highly qualified people. So are the other countries I mentioned. They all have their freeloaders and so do we. You're going to have abusers in any system you build. But I'm not even talking about handouts. I'm talking about the fact that in any of these countries more of the taxes the people pay come back to them and their families in tangible services, like education for their children and elderly care for their parents. They don't pay more tax. I lived and worked in the UK for a few years and I was paying about the same in taxes that I do here. But I was getting more tangible service. I was actually paying less in the net because I didn't have to pay for health insurance.

So how does that add up?

Well, about half the federal taxes that Americans pay, goes to the military. Whether that's good or bad doesn't change the fact that the difference between what we pay for national defense and what these other nations pay for their national defense is enough to fund more tangible services.

...as opposed to the "intangible" service that national defense amounts when threats are potential or unverified by those being "protected".

I'm not trying to marginalize the need for national defense any more than the need for a phone. But I'm not paying $8,000 for a phone either. I understand how the MIC works, my dad was an aerospace engineer so I know it put food on the table when I was a kid. But for most Americans, the Pentagon is forcing them to buy $8,000 phones they don't need.

And it's not because "it's government". The government is just a tool in this situation. It's the defense contractors in the private sector that are lobbying the government to maximize their sales. I'm not even sure the buck stops there, those companies have to maximize their sales to survive in a market where a drop in sales means investors lose interest and your stocks drop. It's a vicious chain that always leads to the people trying to make money out of money.

I think Jesus had something to say about that too.

First of all... it's a self-defeating system. As you may know, the value of cryptocurrency is based on the difficulty of the computation and therefore the time it takes to compute it. It's that challenge that makes the accomplishment rare enough to hold value.

If the system t***sfers the burden to the subconscious minds of every person being v******ted on a national scale the accomplishment will become common place and the value of each "coin" will therefore diminish.

The other thing is, blockchains can be enormous requiring very precise addressing. We can do this with algorithms on digital machines to the nth degree but I don't think we can get that precise with our current ability to stamp signatures from biological readings.

I think the motive to make the population immune to C****-** so we can open the economy back up is a far more likely story.
