It's not all tranquility and fun! Our minds do there best at saving the moments of terror when it's blowing 60+ knots and the waves are 20+ feet. At that time there is no safe place to hide. I have been there a few times, maybe 2 or 3 times, but the thousands of great times are just a blur, sadly.
Evening Capt.. The difference between us, I have only sailed when weather conditions were good and stayed that way, luckily.. Oh had a bit of high sea adventure once with crashing waves and listing here and there but nothing major..Certainly not what you describe here..
Did have a good scare once coming into the inlet with waves crashing over the stern and smashing us into the jetti’s starboard side showing damage..A comfortable 24 ft with just four people on board.. The inlet became a swirling wet map and but for another boat that assisted Im sure we were all going down..Threw a line to us and pulled us out of the whirlwind of high waves, pounding the boat ....Never forgotten and say that's when I got my sea legs...Love the outdoors, boating a definite...Can appreciate what you share here..Respect of our magnificent seas a must..
