If she belonged to me, I'd sail her to someplace like Lauderdale, away from Kalifornia, find a good marina to make a home for her and live aboard forever.

But as it is, I'm happy to enjoy the boat bum life to kick off my retirement.

Hi, I have been in Lauderdale a few times, very pricy for most things, the marinas are as well. It puts a
big dent in one's budget. If you anchor any place around Lauderdale after 24 hours the marina police come and tell you to move. I wonder if the Chief of police owns the marina. I had the same problem in California, off Long Beach are 3 man-made islands, named after the 3 men that died in the test of Apollo space capsule, Chaffe, White, and Grisum. After 3 days the police tell you to move.

I found living in most 3rd world places cheap. I used to buy the best Mexican beer for .25 a bottle cold. A huge diner for 3 bucks. Never was I told I could not anchor anywhere but in America. Freedom is getting hard to find.

It's not all tranquility and fun! Our minds do there best at saving the moments of terror when it's blowing 60+ knots and the waves are 20+ feet. At that time there is no safe place to hide. I have been there a few times, maybe 2 or 3 times, but the thousands of great times are just a blur, sadly.

I received my conditioning for the "exciting" times as a boatswain's mate in the Coast Guard, but luckily we've had pretty tame weather here since I moved aboard.

Had a few of those extreme experiences several years back sailing off St. Croix and also Long Island.

Yup. There have been a lot of people living aboard in the Bay Area for years, and recently the City of Sausalito has been doing everything in their power to run live-aboards off their docks, even those paying for the privilege.

But then again, it is Kalifornia.

Approximate numbers to make the math easy to follow.
350 Million People in USA.
3.5 million cases of C***d **. That is 1 % of the population.
150,000 deaths with 45% over 65 and with certain pre existing health conditions.
Deaths are 4.2% of diagnosed. Or .00043% of total population.

There are at least ten diseases that dwarf these numbers. Realistic common sense would say why shut down and destroy the means for 99% of the population to survive?

The left knows that most Americans are not well educated so it's easy to trick them into many things, like v**e for losers like Obama. So, if they can shut down the economy it will cause a depression, many will lose their jobs and they will say it's all do to Trump, pissed off fools will v**e for Biden. They will not care if you are our of work, they will be back in control and that is number one.

From my perspective, 30 years in Kalifornia is 40 years too long.

Bulls**t........this crap came from China and we should nuke those blinkin' chinks straight to hell.

Before we banned travel, those little slants were every damn where.

We should never allow another Chinese chink to enter this country and we should round up all the Chinese chinks that are already here and catapult their @$$€$ back to Chinkland.

I agree, but just to be safe Canadians too. I don't care which country. Supposedly, a Chink doctor stole it from a Canadian lab. Then they k**led her in China.

Thanks!

That sounds like it would make for an idyllic retirement. I know some people who live in Sunrise.

If only the boat were mine....

My plans thus far are retirement (final resting place? ) in the southern Az desert 🏜️, though recently, after Trump's Mt. Rushmore speech, I received an email from a friend and old colleague who lives in S. Dakota who attended it. We've spoken by phone since.

He is in the process of trying to talk me into retiring there, cold weather and all.

Among his "selling points" are the state's respect for the Second Amendment and what he terms "one of the lowest tax and cost of living places in the country."

Both sound good to me, especially with all that beautiful unmarred country up there to enjoy. For awhile I was thinking about northern Nevada for those same reasons, someplace in the Sierras. I once lived in Reno for eight years and have nothing but fond memories of the place.

Time, though not too much of it, will tell. 😁

Seth, I used to live in S. Dakota very near Sturgis. The problem isn't so much the cold, you'll find cold everywhere. Winds like 40-60 mph. and that's normal, every night winds. So that with the cold. Yeah you'll want to miss it.

I wish I was in her District!! I followed her from her attack on Beto as she shut him down squirming over her pointed questions of the second amendment..

Like her common sense analogy and her guts to act!! A doer in motion.. She kept her restaurant open until they temporarily suspended her license for violating Polis order... took two fines over it first... lolol The donations she got to pay those fines well in excess of the fines..She hadn’t asked for help, people just started taping money to her windows of the restaurant..She made that known and the community told her keep it and use it for your campaign.. The rest is history.. BTW it wasn’t just money from the community but all over....

Forgot to say, the food she serves outstanding in flavor and employees are just as down to earth as she...

Doesn't everyone know that Polis is a joke? A gay fat man taking orders from the mob, a real outstanding public servant

Sounds like a job for 3 layers of polypropylene under a layer of Gore-tex.

Hi CD: I am acutely aware that covin 19 is not the only health concern one may contemplate right now. I am in UCSF Medical Center going on two weeks. About two weeks ago I went to sleep feeling ok, but awoke the next morning paralyzed. I still cannot stand, no strength; but working hard to get back to being independent. The probable cause was electrolyte imbalance of the blood and nerves issues. I expect to recover, but it may take weeks of assisted care and PT. So folks, I guess, the morale of this story is pay attention to what your bod tell U. It's terrifying to awake paralyzed.

You just answered your own question... Only 1% are currently infected....

Multiply those mortalities by 99 and you'll understand the concern...

150,000 x 99 = 14,850,000

Or do you feel that 15 million dead is a fair price to pay to keep them economy going???
