Since they claim to be Progressives as oppose to Liberals, I always refer to them as proggies. At times I use it as a denigration, or pejorative.

I presented an argument to my son that Alzheimers was a progressive disease by definition:

"A progressive form of presenile dementia that is similar to senile dementia except that it usually starts in the 40s or 50s;"

And should be avoided at all costs. He just hung up on me...

Oy vey. I have have experienced the same with one of my grand daughters. She is the 'party type' ala the 60's. She quit college, which broke my son's heart. Her sibling, 2 years her senior, finished her masters and is now going for her doctorate.

That's the way young people are, we say white, they say black. The funny thing is we can see where they are and where they're headed. They can't see us. It's almost like being God, except without all the responsibilities.

English something or other. She is an aspiring writer. She already writes for several publications and for some locally.

That's wonderful. I never knew how ignorant I was in anything English until college. We speak and have learned a very difficult language. I couldn't imagine doing graduate studies about it. Better folks than me have that job, if were up to me, I'd still be drawing pictures of critters and h****rs on cave walls. A picture is still worth about a thousand aint it? Or has Obama screwed that up too?

The EPA would probably designate cave walls to be endangered, and no more pictures allowed. Or perhaps the pictures would be offensive to wildlife who might live in them. Who knows what the EPA could, and would, conjure up.
