First, YOU AVOIDED MY QUESTION. Second, the carotid artery, there are two one on each side of the neck and both would need to be restricted to cause death, and the officer's knee was not even close to either artery. Additionally, the omohyoideus muscle protects the arteries. So, YOU ARE WRONG.

Third, I guess you think a person in handcuffs is defenseless….again, you are wrong. Feet can disable your opponent better than a fist. Teeth can be deadly. So, poor man handcuffed....right!

Records show that the officer's knee was in place less than 10 minutes.

I guess Dillion Taylor's name does not ring a bell.....Tell me again about the "stink."

People have died from sleeper holds. Its surprising how little force you need to render someone unconscious. The video doesn’t tell the whole story but it shows that the man was in obvious distress.

Sleeper holds requires pressure on the carotid.....the position Flynn was in, there appears to be absence of any pressure on either carotid arteries. Below is a close up of Flynn.... notice his nose and mouth are free of obstruction. Also look at the knee position....on the upper shoulder and back from the front of Flynn's face. The next attachment is a "sleeper" hold. Notice that the arms encircle the neck allowing pressure on both arteries. Last attachment is the position of carotid arteries.

Sleeper holds are dangerous, hold on too long and you can cause brain damage or death. This is why it is not used by LE.....However, the knee against the neck is not a k**ler hold, it just keeps bitters from taking a chunk off your hand, arms, or where ever they can sink their teeth into....which also prevents being spit on....lowering spread of disease.

One last thought....should people being arrested be offered a high tea and made comfortable?

Not murder, unless Floyd committed suicide by over indulgence on KFC.

So.... now you show your true colors. Okay, what if the "detainee" were white and the cop black? I'm sure you'd be singing a different tune then, seeing as how you are clearly a r****t. People such as yourself are the problem. We've made many admirable strides toward easing away from the white vs. black abyss we were in in the '50's and '60's and someone of your ilk comes along and undoes all the progress we've made. Way to go, jackass.

There are plenty of cases where black cops have k**led w****s. Most do not make headlines and I do not know of any that produced mob violence. I support police and military, they have a difficult job and most perform very well.

Bottom line, you can not support your position with facts so you resort to attacking me.....Ad hominem fallacies are uncivil and do not help creating a constructive atmosphere for dialogue to flourish. Now if you wish to return to facts of the case, I will be more than willing to discuss your opinions while defending my position.

I have had various sleeper holds done on me and am well aware what they feel like - especially from someone that has poor technique. It just takes longer with the latter. I rule out nothing based on a picture especially since it went on so long. Enough sustained pressure and the carotid can be pinched.

I know a lot of cops and am no cop h**er. But there are bad ones out there and for the other three to be so unconcerned for this man’s obvious distress is unconscionable and only hurts the good ones.

I would love to be wrong about this.

You don’t know much about Pennylynn. Don’t jump to conclusions. She is one of the best here at researching a subject and one of the most civil posters here regardless of whats thrown her way.

I always make a point of reading her posts even when I may not agree. She brought up some valid points most don’t consider in this age of trial by media.

So, you think he should have been released because he was in distress? The way he was pinned, nothing was obstructing his breathing and the officer called for an ambulance when he appeared to be in distress. What did you expect the other "3" (in the video there was only 2 other officers, one was told to guard Floyd's car and the Asian) to do? Should they have jerked the officer off of Floyd? Cried? Panicked? Shot, tazze, or kicked their fellow officer? What exactly would you have done in the same place?

The autopsy will show what happened, and the cause of death will not be murder....My guess, Floyd will have drugs in his system and the cause of death will be c****ary failure. Now consider this, had Floyd not have been committing a crime....and not fought with the officer or try to run.....would this excuse for r**ting happen? If Floyd had been white, would this cause a raise of an eyebrow?

My thoughts...one officer will be held over by grand jury for involuntary manslaughter and if it goes to trial will be acquitted. The knee on the neck could not have caused death, medically not possible. Additionally, to prove murder, there has to be intent. I do not see intent, but as of today the officers have been unable to tell their side of the events.....only hysterical media who can not milk the SIF v***s much longer.

Good points but, if the guy was cuffed and on the ground, there was no reason to stand on his neck. Three guys against one cuffed dude on the ground is all that is needed to know here.

Off topic, but why would a nice Christian woman have to be restrained by LE with sleeper holds? Never mind, that is not part of the discussion.

In California, mid 1990s, there was a number of deaths from choke holds. This prompted LE across the nation to abandon the hold. So, you may never see an officer using a "chokehold" or "sleeper hold.

There are "bad" law enforcement officers....they are just people hired to keep law abiding citizens safe. They have bad days and at times their judgement is imperfect. In my opinion, the good police far outnumber the bad. I support our laws, law enforcers, and our military.

As an alternative for people like yourself....let's consider firing all police. The wild west returns, after all, violence was less pervasive in the "wild West" than in modern day cities. Civil society of the American West in the nineteenth century was not very violent. Eugene Hollon writes that the western frontier “was a far more civilized, more peaceful and safer place than American society today” (1974, x). Terry Anderson and P. J. Hill affirm that although “[t]he West . . . is perceived as a place of great chaos, with little respect for property or life,” their research “indicates that this was not the case; property rights were protected and civil order prevailed. Private agencies provided the necessary basis for an orderly society in which property was protected and conflicts were resolved” (1979, 10). So, let us fire the police and while we are at it, dismantle the military and go back to m*****a....and on occasion lynch parties. I guess that the police in the Flynn case would never reach trial, as many have already charged and tried them, found them guilty even with lack of evidence.

Nobody's saying to dismantle the police or military!! But we need to get rid of bad apples that spoil the bunch in police as a whole and military ! ! These 4 deserve prosecution and jail!

If I had used tacos as the reason for his body, would you be offended...how about Southern Fried Steak, spaghetti, too many lentils in a vegan diet, or too many soft drinks? What if I had just said, he looked like he really enjoyed eating? News flash, white people eat KFC...I don't because I am a vegan. But, I have seen many w****s chowing down on dead chickens.

Yes indeed…. see the photo posted earlier on knee placement and open space around nose and mouth. Breathing was not obstructed.
