Eisenhower was worried about a defense industry- military complex. When you have a question of how to solve a serious problem like this p******c which has now taken over a hundred thousand American lives, you go to the best scientific minds in the field. Thats Dr. F***i and the science guys at the CDC, and other scientific institutions.
I can assure you that General Eisenhower had the best medical doctors in the country. One of the things I find the hardest to understand is how did common science based solutions become a political statement?

Two things to consider.
1. Your best scientific minds had no data on this (It’s nature, origin, t***smissibility, cures) and were simply guessing as best they could.
2. Their focus is on the disease. The ramifications on the economy and the country (and the world) Is not their area of expertise.
