If god is in control, then the mess we are in is Gods mess & he willed us to be in this mess.

We are here in a mess that mankind made & mankind has to work its way out of it.

If you believe God is in control, then we are just pawns in a game.

Look at it this way. If God controls us we have no freewill.

If we have no freewill we do what God ordains & are sinners because God wishes it so.

I say we do have freewill & we are here on earth to use it.

It is our use of of the freewill that God has given us that will lead us to make the right use of it.

Read it again & see that I said that it was mans mess & it was for man to clean it up.

For many that have power over us are just pleased that so many are waiting God to clean up the mess.

Those that don't believe in God believe that there is no God coming to clean up the mess they continue to make.

Yet you believe that God will clean up the messes made by those that don't believe in him.

Waiting for their punishment in Hell & your reward in Heaven.

You will live in Hell here on Earth while they live here with the rewards.

We do have freewill so God does not have complete control he left some of that with us. He does control the weather, disease, and many other things that he uses to guide people. We may call these things, bad luck, good luck, karma or chance, but he does exert influence in the lives of all people.

floydbrown We have a free will true............but in using it, is it for GOOD or evil? For GOOD is GOD'S will to the betterment of all. For evil is satanic it also is a free will decision but certainly not for good or betterment of society.

Christianity teaches that God made everything, gave Man "d******n over" everything on the planet, and gave Man Free Will. At the same time it teaches that God causes things to happen here on Earth, turned Lot's wife into a pillar of salt and so on, and punished the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. That's not exactly conducive to the old Free Will concept, if God hands out orders and k**ls you for disobeying., now is it?

The Christian god is in conflict with itself. The Old Testament god is full of human anger, jealousy and retribution. The New Testament god is all peace and love and forgiveness.Two different gods. No wonder it gets confusing.

God isn't in control of our lives but we can give God responsibility for dealing with our problems by giving those problems to God and letting go of them. Totally letting go of them. God can't fix things while someone else is holding on to them and still trying to fix them. You have to utterly give them away, to fully let go. Then God can be a part of your life.

But cause the messes we get into, the disasters that happen? No. God has nothing to do with that.

How self-important some humans can be, to look at the unimaginably vast Universe that we're such a speck in, and think that God is so concerned with us. There must be life on billions of planets, and God's love is unconditional. That also means undiscriminating. When you can understand that God loves a solitary ant as much as you, then you're starting to get it.

There is no conflict within God. God gave man authority like Kings an Queens have given authority to others and even Democracies give authority to those within their organization such as police officers. This does not take away the ability of the giver to occasionally usurp that authority or to punish those who abuse the authority given to them.

God didn't give us or the ants or anything else Free Will or Authority or anything else. We were not Created. We evolved just like the ants and gophers. God does not Punish. Get that through your head. God doesn't cause you to win the lottery, or lose an arm. God is not an old man with a white beard.

God never gave anything to anything. You think God is like humans. Not so.

So I say that if that is the case the mess is his.

I feel that if God put us here he just left it up to us to get by the best we could.

So it is my belief that it is our mess & it is up to us to come together & clean it up.

If we believe in God or not it is how we get along with each other. We have to make things work the best for us.

Oh Floyd, it's all about choice, God gave you the choice and it's up to you what to do with it, free will!

You kick him out of school, you turn your back on him, you want all reference to God removed from public life and now God is suppose to step in and make it all better? He can not, because you won't let him in.

Exactly right. Blaming our messes on God just doesn't fly. God is not in control and never has been. The whole fable of "God gave us Free Will" hinges on the story of creation. We know that we weren't created, we evolved over literally billions of years. If God could give us free will, then that means that God could also take it away and that means that God is in control of us.

This is the crap that the fat priests tell people to keep them afraid of God and in line. "God will punish you for your sins". Bulls**t. God doesn't punish anyone for anything and never has. All that h**eful, abusive stuff that God supposedly did in the Old Testament is nothing but a load. Life is dangerous and often hard. It always has been but we've made things a lot better for ourselves over the ages, we no longer die by the age of 40, covered in scars, and most of our newborn at least reach maturity, and God had nothing to do with any of it.
