You can't believe the statistics any more. The CDC changed the rules on classifying deaths. If the c****-** was only a contributing factor or was suspected of being present, even without confirmation, it is to be listed as the cause of death. A person with end stage cancer and any symptoms of c****-**, that death would be a c****-** death even without testing for the disease. It wouldn't surprise me if someone k**led in a car accident that had c****-** would have their death classified as a c****-** death. C****-** and the flu share many of the same symptoms, without testing how would you know how to classify the deaths.
