We have this little thing called the Constitution of the United States. He hasn't the authority to mandate nationwide house arrests otherwise known as quarantines even IF there were due process applied to every person in the country, let alone without due process.

We have the highest number of confirmed cases because we have exponentially more testing than most counties and twice as much as the next highest testing country (Italy). We have so far tested more than 1.6 million people. Italy has tested a little over 600,000. Most countries have tested a few tens of thousands. There are not less cases in other countries but less KNOWN cases.

But just supposing our country was able to implement full nationwide quarantine. Forget about what it would do to peoples jobs, businesses, and the like. What would happen when the quarantine was lifted? Would not the v***s then surge. Understand that during the quarantine there would still be some hosts available since essential services could not be halted unless we were all to go without food, power, mail, medical and cleaning personnel in the hospitals, truckers, etc. So the v***s would still be there. So the only thing the quarantine would accomplish is delay the inevitable course of the disease while destroying our economy and huge part of the livelyhood and even lives of the people.
