Ford is working with 3M and GE to make respirators and ventilators They'll be making masks also.

A respiratory ventilator is not a wind up toy, it is a sophisticated technological machine. Gonna take these manufacturers a little time to get all the construction data squared away and tool up or retool to get these babies rolling.

It is the state governments, i.e., governors, who are responsible for preparing their states for such contingencies. State governments certify hospitals, clinics, and medical facilities within their state, they regulate them, approve expansion of them, authorize upgrades in medical equipment and supplies. State governments license physicians, nurses, and other medical professionals. This is not the responsibility of the federal government.

It is telling that the hardest hit states - New York, California, Washington, New Jersey - are all run by democrats. With over half the cases of C****-**, NY is the epicenter of this p******c.

Due to prior v***l outbreaks such as the flu and Ebola, governor Cuomo was told that NY needed to beef up the state's defense. He rejected the proposal.

Some of these people get their news a few days (or weeks) late. Part of the problem with the MSM is the rush to print every story before it is even vetted. A lot of half-t***hs get thrown around before all the evidence has been collected and analyzed. So these broadcasters have to speculate on every story to keep it on the front burner and in the public's eye.

Sounds exactly like Ovommitcare. Death panels while denying the elderly the right to live while favoring the youth market. I have personally seen this in action with this lousy ovommitcare program that no politician wants for them or their family members.

wood, We can make lots more respirators than we are now. The problem is that Trump has not ordered American companies to manufacture them. He is looking for companies to volunteer. He certainly has the power to make super large corporations manufacture protective gear, tests for the v***s and respirators. He is in a position to save thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands of lives. He said that we are at war with this disease. If FDR would have asked American companies to volunteer making tanks airplanes and all the other materials for making war, we all would be speaking German now.

Well you don't need any criteria if you are in Alabama where there are only 450 infected and fewer than 100 in hospitals. I live dead center in NY which is ground zero and we have plenty of gloves, masks and ventilators, even here. Why your ilk insists on spreading false hysteria is beyond me.

I just read where New York was complaining because all they received was 7000 from trump and 400 from Fema. But they were told in 2005 they didn't have enough they needed in case of p******c they had the option to buy respirators for 36,000 each at that time instead he sunk it into solar to the tune of 750 million so put the blame where it belongs

The bottom line is NY has enough ventilators FOR NOW as we only have about 2500 patients here in NY hospitalized with Covod-19, only SOME of them need ventilators and NY has about 12,000 ventilators RIGHT NOW. What makes the news is hysterical, unrealistic projections for the future of 40-50 thousand people in NY needing ventilators; nothing close to that is going to happen.

Not all at once! Well, maybe yes in NY. They are democrats so they don't have enough sense to keep an adequate distance from others nor employ safe health practices and protect themselves for the v***s.
