Deaths due to Flu and Pneumonia in 2017 for the USA alone. That's just 2017, just the USA.

Influenza and Pneumonia: 55,672

Very nearly as many due to kidney disease.

I'm just having to think this is a great story for the media to make some money on.

How many of them are the “anti Vaxers” who falsely believe flu shots will make them sick?

That's an unknown. But I will say, as someone who has never had the flu, I felt badly for a good two weeks the first time I got a flu shot about three years ago, the same next year and the year after that. This is the first year I haven't felt like crap after getting it. Just FYI.

Most deaths due to flu are the very young and the very old.

Hold on Kevyn I have known people that have never taken the flu shot who's dr.s insisted they have to have it due to their age in less than 48 hrs they got so sick one went out to get her mail the day after neighbor found her on the sidewalk she was in the hospital for almost a week she almost died. The v*****e they give is created from the flu from the year before it is not a guarantee all it is supposed to do is help you have a lighter case of the flu. In recent years though the flu that comes up the next year is a different strain and making the v*****e useless. This is my understanding I have never had the v*****e I believe if my body is doing its job I don't want to interfere and possibly weaken it. I have had flu 3 times in my life last time was maybe 20 yrs ago

It happens every year. There's a false narrative that the flu v*****e will keep one from contracting the flu, when in fact, it only guarantees immunity from the 2 or 3 strains in the v*****e.....................from among 100's of strains out there.

One can receive the flu v*****e, Pneumovax and Prevnar 13 - and still contract Influenza and die of pneumonia.

Never had one...and have had flu once in 40 years.

To answer your question - C****-** is real enough to cause China to lock down over 70 million people and has already since the end of the Chinese New Year, shaved 1% off its GDP. It is not abating - not even levelling off.

I’m sure you can get cheap flights and a cruise over there at a cut rate prices right now.

Very little effort on the internet will confirm.

I don't doubt that is true, however, we do much, much less regarding flu v***s's here in the US even the death toll each and every year is far greater that the C****-** has been thus far. It might get worse, but I actually doubt it. Internet misinformation is rampant as virtually everything is blown so out of proportion. The weather channel is a great example where you have guys sanding in ditches in waist deep water trying to make it look like wide spread flooding is occurring while in the back ground people are walking by, on the side of the ditch going to the grocery store.

And I actually hope I am right. I hope this new bug doesn't get to the levels of flu we already have for which we don't quarantine or prevent from travelling.
