Not sure about "most" anyone, but I not only know where Ukraine is, I know we have a treaty obligation to defend them.

There are trying to reform their culture of corruption and build democratic institutions. We should at least help them with this by not letting the sons of American politicians come there and siphon off money from the country.

Right you are. Obama talked them into giving up their military arsenal, (left over from the Soviet Union,) promising them we would protect them if they needed it, (especially from Russia.) Then when Russia did attack, Obama sent them blankets and food, and let Putin do wh**ever he wanted.

Their biggest mistake was allowing Russia to take back all the nuclear weapons that had been based in the Ukraine. No one attacks a nuclear armed country.

They keep Russia busy. I don't really have another good answer at the moment besides what I said earlier. As long as they are a counter to Putin's aspirations of building another Russian empire they remain a good ally.

Even those of us in the middle know where Ukraine is, and that it was the bread basket of the Soviet Union. What it has to do with our National security is murky. Since 9/11, EVERYTHING seems to affect National security, at least, according to the i***ts in DC.
