A 'gun crime' is using a gun in the commission of a rime. Example: there is robbery and there is 'armed robbery', etc. When one is charged there can be the additional charge of unlawful use of a firearm - a federal offense - but rarely are the criminals charged with that. That is what irritates a lot of pro-gun folk: The l*****t clamor for more gun laws when the ones on the books now are not enforced.

PRC... Possession of a gun is illegal... Robbery is illegal... But unless the gun was used during the robbery, it is doubtful the death penalty would be handed down...

Somewhere along the line we did not communicate clearly: What I meant to say - if I failed to do so - is that in the PRC, if one uses a gun in the commission of a crime, one is given the death penalty (IIRC).

I know that issue the burns me (as a Pro 2A supporter) is that enforcing the Federal gun laws pertaining to the use of a gun in a crime has ben clearly shown to reduce gun crime. Yet these laws are mostly not used.

It annoys me that the left wants to introduce new gun laws even though they don't enforce the laws currently on the books...
It's like they think if there are enough laws maybe some of them will get enforced by accident...
