I was given an opportunity to learn Russian in the military Russian language school, the two longest schools in the military are Russian and nuclear missile systems analyst, Russian was 52 weeks, missile systems was less at something like 38 weeks, I went with the nukes. To give you an idea the rate things are jammed down your throat, it was like DC circuits 11 weeks, AC circuits 13 weeks, then on to the missile systems. The top secret clearances took six to eight months and you could not be deployed to your job until it came through. The electronics we got as I recall got counted as a two year degree as far as college credits is concerned. My point was that the Russian language learned in 52 weeks was considered not for the faint of heart.
