I heard the same ... it is shameful the lengths that deceptive little twerp will go to in an effort to mislead/lie to the public and then attempt to cover it up--with more lies. I find it difficult to believe that people can't see right through these lies.

I did appreciate the one attorney bringing up shifty's pattern of lying on important issues ... like the "evidence" only he had seen in the Russian collusion thing and his denial of having communicated with the wb. And, given the major part shifty has played in this entire h**x, his lack of credibility must certainly be an issue. And why hasn't the transcript of the ICIG's testimony been released as part of these proceedings? Well, let's see, maybe that reveals info about shifty's contact with--and assistance to--the wb ... as well as that the ICIG initially rejected the wb complaint because he knew the wb to be biased.
Maybe that's it ....

It would remain to be seen whether it was true, of course the ones that weren't threatened would say they weren't, what about the ones who were, the ones who have been promised campaign funds if they stick? You do not know what kind of pressure or coercion has been played, but we do know it has happened.

Senator Murkowski is not President Trump's fan and she was one of the Senators who was upset with Schitt's statement!!!

These are opening arguments where both the prosecution and defense gets to have their say without direct rebuttal like there would be in the trial stage.

I will say it again, I hope they are stupid enough to v**e to acquit, because the trial and evidence will go on for all of the months before the e******n, and then there will be the new articles of impeachment and we'll see if the white house wants to continue the charade of executive privilege on things that have no possible definition of being anything to do with executive privilege.

The house can for instance have a hearing on new evidence and have Parnas come to testify in an open setting...which would lay out the grounds for the need for a special counsel for the crimes and abuses of power involved with Giuliani. Then there are other house committees doing other investigative work on other issues, since the DOJ has refused to be a part of investigating and prosecuting anything to do with the administration.

Actually the reason they have a very low lift is that the case set forth by shifty, nadler et al. is ridiculous on its face and all President Trump's attorneys have to do is to show the facts that House managers have been trying desperately to hide.

The acquittal will come for sure, not because of bias in the Senate but because the House democrats have no case to begin with and President Trump's attorneys are going to mop the floor with them before it's over.

After the acquittal, the HOR can go right ahead on and do wh**ever they want, but they are losing this impeachment battle with the public--and with v**ers--and they will lose even bigger if they continue this vendetta against a sitting President. To attempt to start a second round of impeachment proceedings just a few months before an e******n--an e******n in which American v**ers will be able to choose who they want sitting in the oval office--will be political suicide because what they would really be saying loud and clear and convincingly is that they believe the American v**ers to be too stupid to make the right choice. That they know what is best for us.

The very best they can hope for now is that their sleazy, underhanded, elaborate plan to take over the Senate will work. They believe Trump will get elected again because they have no one who can beat him. ANd their only hope of stopping him from fulfilling his agenda is to get a majority in both HOR and Senate. Ergo this damage they are doing to our government and our country is a political game to force a few "vulnerable" Republican Senators to v**e for acquittal and use that to campaign against them in their bid to take over.

It will most likely backfire big time on them. But it is their only shot. Pathetic. Selfish, self-serving, and pathetic.

You obviously didn’t listen to the President’s defense team this morning which thoroughly debunked all of the Democrats false accusations and proved them to be nothing but fabrications.

There is little doubt that President Trump's lawyers will win the impeachment battle. The bar set by the democrats is very low. However, if the Republicans don't wise up in the way they handle this trial, they may lose the public relations war.

Of course they will win!!! There are majority Republicans in the Senate !!! There is no way in hell that President Trump can lose unless 20 Republicans decide to join Dems to get rid of Trump!!! And the chance of this happening is 0%!!!!!?

I think Schiff may have have truly shot himself in the foot by saying, on the Senate floor, as part of his opening argument, that he “heard” a rumor that Republican Senators were warned if they didn’t v**e against impeachment they’d have their heads on a pike; which caused them all to deny it. I think he may have permanently alienated even the swing v**ers on that one. He definitely revealed his true substance: all he has is hearsay, and he doesn’t have the sense not to run presumptions up the f**g pole. What a dangerous man to justice.

Think of all the peole who are watching this fiasco. think of how many democrats are leaving the party
in shame. even to the every day democrat this is embarrassing, this is why many are joining the
Republican party. I'll have to say this, the dems tend to stick together more so than the Republicans but
they constantly make the mistake of over reaching. they seem to think they can fool everyone all the time.
thery make bad matters worse by covering up, which is another way of saying lying. If they had not hidden
in the cellar when they had their get together about impeachment and if they had made it look like they were
being honest then they might have gotten away with more than they did, but to make it look like a star chamber
and make a show about it with pen give-a-ways and high fives they over did it. So once again they look like
fools and the country is laughing at them...........again.
what fools these mortals be.

I would say that would be a HUGE mistake if the Dems decide to go the route of re impeaching the pres. Which, if the Senate acquits, they could go on and on and totally destroy their party absolutely. As it is, they have alienated many people with this charade that I am not sure they can recover, but, hey, they are not known for their brilliance and savvy, so I suppose they could do. If the Senate acquits, then the House would have to start over-the impeachment is gone-an impeachment is an indictment, and when an indictment fails, you don't get to use the same charge-double indemnity, right? Or does that not apply to an impeachment? Not sure. But in any case, the Dems should just lick their wounds, admit defeat, and start to work for the people of this country, perhaps even, (gasp!) work with the president in getting some things done, like immigration reform, the infrastructure and the like.....might be the best way for them to become relevant again - ya think?
