Yet we continue to kiss the Saudi's asses after their supper for bin Laden and every other Sunni Islamic fundamentalist group in the Middle East. Turkey, not so much.

Turkey working with Iraq? Where do you get that nugget? Turkey has worked for Turkey for decades. Read Kindross' "The Ottoman Centuries" for a little more insight into Turkish-Sunni relations in the Middle East. What is today Iraq was part of the Ottoman Empire for hundreds of years before the Brits and the French took a ruler to form what is today Iraq.

Yet the Brits and the French, or the Germans, all much closer to Iraq than the US, don't seem to be jumping into the breech. Wonder why? Iraq is their creation (the Brits and the French). Let them deal with it.

Right oh,Vehole, who posts he's "real man of action -a combat vet" A regular GI Joe.

As I said, I've been more than forthright yet you've been rather vague.

But you don't want to engage in debate-you just want to insult. You have no defense for you're point of view-you just want to insult. You have no answers,-just insults.

Pathetic.

Christianity is ILLEGAL in Saudi Arabia. In Turkey, there is along history of Christianity existing side by side with the Turkish brand of Islam.

What side do you think is more culpable in the current Middle Eastern situation?

Erdogen is planning on taking Christianity's oldest cathedral the Sophia hagia and turning it from a museum into a mosque. The coming anti Christ will come from Turkey. The bible in the old testament is constantly speaking of Pergamon that's modern day Turkey. And God is not happy . learn your Bible and you will see the t***h. Bet you did not even look at the link... Just spitted out b. S. Typical left way of looking at life changing issues. Blame Saudi Arabia. I don't likeS.A. either. If you'd watched you'd of seen the demon worship I spoke of was Sufi Islam from Saudi Arabia. Numbskull.

I think the story really is that the United States is taking orders from Qatar. We seem to get our diplomatic cues from the Emir...

Our closest allies left are Turkey and Qatar. That is telling, considering that traditionally (last 50 years) our allies in the region have been Israel, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia.

The "governments" (I use that term loosely) of Qatar and Turkey are both hardcore pro-Sunni caliph**e. And as a result, they are not so fond of the Shia and Iran. This would explain why Obama has been so hostile toward the Iranians, and vice versa, despite the claimed attempts to use diplomacy thwart Iranian nuclear development.

Ever consider, that ISIS is the "moderate rebels" they have been arming to o*******w Assad and Syria from a secular Islamic Republic? There is no brilliant idiocy coming from McCain's illiterate perception of right vs. wrong, and Husseyn-Obama's quite a neutered sermonizer since the ISIS Operation began, how is it that Ukraine the "rebels" cannot be identified but for their concentrated attacks on civilian targets, Churches and Synagogues. What if this just a coincidental planned rebirth of another Operation Barbarossa? It is sounding more like the prelude to the 1939 attack on Poland, the NATO Games can bring a conquest of the Black Sea region for Turkey and Qatar, isn't it curious the Pakistani Intelligence services is called I.S.I.? only add another "S" and what a surprise ISIS or more appropriately AL'Q'ISIS the coalition of death, there was a reason why Pakistan has been so out of the Headlines lately, my guess it is the "Moderate Rebels" Al'Obama chose to arm, why worry about a little case of B******i, when there are 'bigger fish to fry?'
Throughout History, at any point in time when the Genocide of "Religious Societies" are massacred, without any outcry, there is catastrophe at hand.

"The anti-christ will be coming from Turkey"? Hard to argue with that statement. And you talk about "spitting out b.s."?

I don't believe in making government policy from any religious texts, even one's I believe in. Thats why we have a secular government here as they do in turkey.

Comparing Turkey with Saudi Arabia is futile. Saudi arabia has oil, is ruled as a family business, makes s***ery legal and Christianity illegal.

Turkey may not be perfect but it is a far cry more liberal than any other government in the Middle East, including Israel, which is a Jewish theocracy.

Yes, Turkey has oppressed the Kurds and Armenians but it also has taken imperfect steps to reverse this tendency.

Turkey has been an important ally since WWII allowing the US to station nuclear missiles aimed at Russia during the Cold War.

It is also a secular government.

Read Kindross' "The Ottoman Centuries." Look up exactly what a who the Janissaries were. Hey, some of the sultans from the old Ottoman Empire were liberal compared to Saudi Arabia today.

Or "The House of Saud." by Lacy.

Reading the Bible will give you nothing on what Secular policy in our government should or shouldn't be. It is a religious text. You claim that we should follow it but that the Muslims are crazy fanatics for following the Koran.

Oh, yeah, because the Bible's right and the Koran is wrong. I forgot.

Hey, maybe you're Turkish. You paint a very rosy picture of nation of people who have been at war with the West for centuries. It's nothing against Turks, but their government has left the secularism that Ataturk gave it. They're back to the border wars with the Russians and Cossacks.

Saudi Arabia was never a country until TE Lawrence organized the Bedouins. Turkey has a history of empire, conquest, and subjugation.

As I said, Turkey has had a secular government since 1023. They had a woman prime minister in the 1990s. They allowed the US to place nuclear missiles aimed at the USSR during the Cold War. They haven't been an enemy of the West since the Great War., which ended in 1918.

You wanna live in the past? Go ahead.

Turkey is the one nation in the Middle East that offers anything to the West. They desperately want to become part of NATO.

And your complaining that Turkey opposes Russia? That is a good thing according to those who want US military intervention in the Ukraine.

But if you h**e all things Islamic, I guess you're not going to come around anyway, any how.

PS: Not Turkish, but Serbian. And Serbs have no love lost for the Turks. Field of Blackbirds and all that. But I don't take a Serbian nationalist view of Turkey because I'm an American of Serbian descent, not a Serb who happens to live in the US.

As I said, Turkey has had a secular government sin... (show quote)

Turkey has been a NATO member since 1952.
The Ottoman Empire fell apart in 1924. It was an Islamic Caliph**e, not a secular government. This is one reason why Banna organized the Muslim Brotherhood - to reestablish the Caliph**e which was lost after WWI.
CHP politicians have been purged by the AKP, the party of Erdogan, the Islamists. CHP are the Kemalists, the secularists, Rick Perry's friends. They've been put in jail by the hundreds, in maximum security solitary confinement prisons freshly constructed according to Sharia law (not kidding).
Turkey went off the rails. It happened in the late 1990s when it finally came to light that their military was in the drug business. That's what enabled the AKP to take over, and now they are hostile with every other country in the region save Qatar... and Iran when they're working together to get around sanctions.
