2-3 months depending upon how long you let it sit and age. Strong beers can age a long time. Weak beers 3-6 months. It varies.

It can be done in a few weeks but it's best to ferment a bit longer and let it sit in the bottle not refrigerated for a while as well, at least for ales. Lagers are a diffeent story requiring cold for fermentation and sitting refrigerated in bottles for a while (lagering.)
