How is this for protecting our wildlife? A portion of the Keystone pipeline approved and given taxpayer funds by the Obama administration despite being deficient in safety and crossing high risk areas, leaked 383,000 gallons. The latest in leaks going back to 2010. So who gets blamed? The one who approved replacing the faulty pipeline with one which had safety features and bypassed the highest risk areas. Protestors blocked the process which would have phased out the faulty line.

Good deviation of what we were talking about, where's your proof of the allegations, and which one. Did Obama build the Pipeline? Is it the responsibility of the people who have built it, using it and most of all PROFITING from it? We're not profiting, we're just being used. Who are the ones who really cut corners, do you possibly think it could have been the oil company or refinery, like the KOCH's cutting corners to save money and have more profit, just like the Gulf oil spill. You putting the blame on Obama is some twist even for you.

You tell me how does an oil spill protect our lands, wildlife and ourselves especially now with even more deregulations under Trump.

Obama gave taxpayer funds for the Keystone pipeline which had the big spill. The one which leaked had the first leak soon after in 2010. But protesters were not interested until the high tech safety measures were about to be introduced in a new pipeline which would skirt some of the most vulnerable areas and so enabling the faulty pipeline to be replaced. So the big nationally covered protest halted the safer pipeline while ignoring the dangerous one.

Check the dates of the list of leaks from the pipeline which leaked 383,000 barrels. 2010 is NOT under Trump's watch!

Obama had just come into office in 2010, so what had been built was already there under the Bush administration, wh**ever leaked had nothing to do with Obama. If he had to put funding into it then it had to be for the repairs, which frankly should have come from the cost of T***s-Pacific people and the others building the pipeline and not one red cent from the American people, but here we go catering to the oil moguls once again, do you know how often we're paying for their profit gain. It's d********g and deplorable, not only for the environment but also for contaminating the water supply. Then guess what, the next monopoly will move in selling us all their bottled water, just like cocoa cola has already tried to do in some towns.

Do me a favor and back up what you say otherwise it's just hearsay from the right propaganda machine, and a waste of time. Obama turned out to be one of the best presidents we've ever had, whereas Trump will go down as one of the worst. Those will be the historical facts in the future.

The State Department under Obama issued permits in 2010, 2013, and 2015 for opening and further construction of three Keystone pipeline routes. These included the one which had such a massive leak in 2019. A bill approving the construction of the fourth Keystone pipeline (Keystone XL Pipeline) was passed by the Senate (62–36) on January 29, 2015 and by the House (270–152) on February 11, 2015 which would have built a pipeline rerouting away from the riskiest environmental areas and include high tech safety features and phased out pipeline#1. Obama vetoed it.

Obama was elected in 2008 and was sworn in in 2009. The permits were issued on his watch beginning in 2010.

Oil pipelines are an environmental risk. If you know a better way to t***sport oil in the quantities being t***sported by pipeline, I'd love to hear it. There are plenty of oil pipelines protestors have ignored.

Under Trump and catering to big oil they are steam rolling over the pristine sanctuaries, once gone they will be gone forever. There are limits and protections for these very reasons, but not acknowledged by this administration. The first and only one to DISRESPECT it. All for the self interest from the people who profited from it,

Are you only interested in oil and Trump? Or does other wildlife harm concern you?

I live surrounded by a wildlife conservation area. In the early fall, before the last of the Naco section of the wall was finished, the illegal traffic up the San Pedro river was high. We have many threatened species and some endangered species here. We were also involved in the replanting operation of native grasses. We have rare breeding sites of gray hawks. There are other rare or uncommon species such as jaguarundis which live along the river on or near our home. One such was the only coatimundi troop living along the San Pedro. All others are mountain coatis.

One evening I heard gunshots and saw lights just south of our property within the riparian strip of the San Pedro. This was hardly the first time this had happened. I called the local CBP station and they were quick to respond. They apprehended 2 i******s (one wanted for murder), but at least one other got away. Once it was daylight I trekked down the river a ways to make sure there was no danger such as an untended or poorly put out fire. I stepped into a clearing to find scattered slaughtered coatimundis. It could have been the entire troop. Their route included our portion of the San Pedro and many I knew by sight. Since then I have seen no coatis nor a single track. The San Pedro is no longer the home of the coatimudi.

Tell me, how are the leaks that occurred be the responsibility of Obama and not T***sCanada’s? The largest leak has been under Trump, is he responsible?
http://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/keystone-pipeline-leak-was-twice-big-previously-thought-180968722/

You've manipulated the post way off the topic, somehow trying to defend Trump's actions, with Obama's, apples and oranges. Just a reminder the topic was protecting wildlife preservations.

Us T***sporting Canada's oil places our aquifers at all the risk, and them with all the profit, save the oil refineries, and that is who has pushed this through. Does this somehow make sense to you?

As far as another way, how about they build a refinery on the ocean on their land a whole lot closer and use oil tankers.
