Yo, DASH, hello, anybody home? There is nothing in any Article, section, paragraph or amendment in the constitution that requires the president to get approval from congress to k**l a terrorist leader. Doesn't matter whether or not that leader wears a nation's uniform. And, there are no statutes on the books that make such a k*****g illegal.
Soleimani was the commander of Iran's Quds force, a division primarily responsible for extraterritorial military and clandestine operations. In that position Soleimani managed Iran's Shiite m*****as and terrorist proxies throughout the Middle East. He played a big role in developing reliable and effective IEDs for use against American troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. IEDs manufactured by Quds force engineers are responsible for k*****g approximately 600 US troops and wounding a thousand more. Blowing an extremely dangerous Islamic thug into hamburger eliminated a direct threat to Americans, Brits, Canadians, French, Christians, Jews, Sunni Muslims, and anyone else branded an infidel.
In 2011, Obama ordered the k*****g of an American citizen in Yemen. He did not seek congressional approval to do this. Following his orders, the CIA launched two drone strikes which k**led the target, his 16 year old son and two other Americans.
In 1998, Bill Clinton ordered drone strikes to take out Saddam Hussein. He did not seek congressional approval for these strikes, in fact, congress for the most part was dead against it. These strikes failed.
In the real world, this is how it works. Intelligence assets pin point the location of a really bad guy like al Baghdadi or Qassem Soleimani. The window of opportunity to nail his ass is tight, like maybe 30 minutes or an hour. If the Commander-in-Chief had to get congressional approval to order a timely strike, he would have to wait for congress to deliberate, debate, argue, convene committees, investigate, research, consider options and ramifications, and generally play politics. By the time congress got done screwing around, the window of opportunity would have long been closed and the bad guy would live another day.
Congress' approval rating hasn't hit 30% over the last decade. Obviously, the majority of Americans don't trust congress as far as they can spit. Democrats and establishment progressive elites have made a shambles of congress, turned it into a freak show with all the trappings of a psyche ward.
Ironic, isn't it, president Trump eliminated a mortal enemy of the United States, democrats in congress are trying to eliminate president Trump. Tells us clearly whose side those cretins are on.
I shudder to imagine what circumstances we'd be in if that fat assed, Wodka guzzling lush had won the e******n and was now setting our foreign policies.
