You mean pointing out an extreme act of monetary corruption based quid pro quo is "deflection" because Biden's another Democrat, therefore, even though he confessed to his quid pro quo on national television, he is exempt from the rules that apply to Republicans.

Trump was withholding military aid, actually it doesn't make any difference why except for the reasons make it even worse. Congress, the state department, intelligence, and the pentagon were all of a mind that it was a matter of extreme national security interests to provide the Ukraine with military aid as soon as possible...
Trump and his merry band of muddlers working outside of official channels withheld this aid and caused the Ukraine to have to give up the eastern region when Russia attacked with tanks.
It is actually highly likely that Putin, knowing congress had authorized funding for military aid, was telling Trump to hold off long enough that US anti tank weapons weren't used against his Russian tanks. Whether Putin told Trump to do this or not, the fact remains that he interfered with national security threats in ways that had no relevance to those interests. Had he been working within official channels he would have been shot down and set straight.
