You seem to forget that Clinton was found guilty of about four crimes but wasn't charged with impeachment because the majority in the House was clearly Democratic, just as it is today. That led for the downfall of the Republican party in the next e******n. You people on the left should take the advice of others, to not go down the road to impeachment at this time.

People also forget the House was controlled by the D's for about 40 years straight. Explains a lot.

I have listened to many good representatives on the left, and some on the right, but let's face it the right is afraid to speak up how they really feel in fear of Trump's and the party's ramifications. They don't v**e their conscience, just the party line. The people on the left do not live in fear of their own party. No, I'm sorry wolf, that is not a fair statement, to v**e everyone out and also in doing so, how do you know you will v**e in any better?

We lost the republican party when I saw the GOP representatives swear an oath to lobbyists, and when I saw the GOP vow to make our president a lame duck in our moment of crisis. No, the left and right are not equal in duplicity.

Oh yes they are equal in duplicity and they are also equal in thinking they’re not. But thats another subect - how we lost both parties.

Good article debeda. And in addition to some other suggestions made - fine them if they can’t balance the budget. And keep fining them until its done. No pay for shutdowns - fines. They have it too easy.

Completely false, the Dem's just regained the house since 2010, the Republicans have had control for almost a decade, so what's your excuse now. Tell me at what point and what does it take for the GOP to own up on something rather than constantly blaming someone else and pointing figures.

You people on the right will block, (not only block but intentionally work against) all our efforts to fix the climate and then when things fall all around us, you'll stand up and with your OL pointing finger and blame us, that is your cowardly MO, quite honestly, how about you guys buck up and for a change and pitich in?

For once realize, your opinion is NOT factual.

We lost the republican party when I saw the GOP representatives swear an oath to lobbyists, and when I saw the GOP vow to make our president a lame duck in our moment of crisis. No, the left and right are not equal in duplicity. There is the proven illegal gerrymandering, and their diabolical "immigration policy" to separate the children from parents.

No in my opinion they are nowhere near equal.

And add TERM LIMITS!! Congress members would be far less likely to roll over and join the corruption if they saw a term of service as a boon on their resume, or a way to serve after retirement, rather than a long term career choice, IMO

1. Term limits.
2. They pay into SS because there will be no special pension all their life, they are just paid while they work. If they take time off to go to Puerto Rico or somewhere it's on their dime and they aren't paid.
3. They buy their own health care just like you or me.
4. No more hush funds.
5. Rescind the i***tic bill that made it legal for muzzies to get elected, according to their koran they h**e America.

We lost the GOP years ago before Trump ever came on the scene. Both parties are owned by lobbies - different ones. Both are owned by Monsanto and big pharma. Both are...owned.

Trump has appointed more ex-lobbyists to his cabinet than other presidents and last I saw there were well over 100 former lobbyists serving in his administration - is that what you mean? That should be illegal. So too should be former congress critters becoming lobbyists.

Not much different as far as corruption goes though other than the spelling.

That’s a simple one to answer. I can’t v**e for a dem because of their positions on topics important to me and dems can’t v**e for republicans for the same reason. So, if the incumbent is a republican, and I can’t v**e for the l*****t then what do I do? I have to v**e for the incumbent. That said. As has been said above term limits would fix this but then we would have 535 elitists that don’t know how to do anything in the real world without jobs and they would have to be the ones passing the legislation to enact term limits and that’s never gonna happen unfortunately.
