I have been a member of this PETA group for years. As long as the animals are not tortured before slaughter, they are there for eating, not wasting any of the meat, which is a gift from God to be used fully with respect for the animal that gave its life for human use.

I got timed out on KOS for saying deer made great carnitas, admittedly that was after saying I had a depredation permit that allowed me to shoot as many bucks or does as I wanted. Someone made a snarky comment about what I did with the meat, did I even eat it, I said yes, it makes great carnitas. I think where I went wrong with the crunchy granola bunch was saying that I ate about two a year and used the rest for coyote bait.

What they donโ€™t think about is you give the animal a much kinder death than it would have otherwise. Illness, starvation and getting chewed up by predators are not easy deaths.

I had a doctor whose wife was his receptionist, she was from up-state New York. She said they referred to deer as wood-rats, and said many starved because of over-population

Yes that happens. The animal rightists and anti-hunting crowds would rather them die a slow, very painful death than be hunted. They're not rational people.

PETA is headquartered here in jock qustos old building on the waterfront, right next to the NOAA building. Every winter we have a striped bass tournament on the Elizabeth River in front of their building. It's broadcasted on all of the local radio stations and even shown on the local news. Of course NPR and WHRO won't touch coverage with a ten foot pole.

Usually PETA members will dress up in vegie costumes and protest from the Berkley Bridge in downtown Norfolk. We are trying to include fur into the tournament so maybe some of the protesters will do so nude. Can't blame guys for trying! Mike

If they don't believe what you say they can check out Port Royal, Virginia game reserve. Very ugly what animal righters did to the deer there. Mike
