But as long as America, or some organization representing America is paying their way, we can and should make sure these athletes respect their country and those they are supposedly representing.

If you want to make a statement get into politics, or write for a newspaper or something. Kneeling just shows you have no respect for the nation, your ancestors, or your fellow citizens who don't care what you think until you tick them off.
