What bothers me about red f**gs is that everyone could wind up with red f**gs and be forced to give up their guns.
Background checks are already done, especially for concealed carry licenses.
But any change to gun laws is a chip away at the Second Amendment.
Trump might be appeasing the soft independent who wants stricter gun laws, and then, knowing that the Senate would never pass a gun control law, pretends to want to have stricter gun laws.
I think Trump should stand up and say that guns don't k**l people, people k**l people.

I trust Trump, even if at first blush, I don't like this idea. If it's rational and common sense maybe we can do away with a lot of the other laws on the books concerning guns.

I trust Trump too, but he's letting the cobra get a little too far out of the basket now. He gets bit by the snake he's playing with, he's out.

The west wing still has swamp critters in it. As Rush said they are trying to separate Trump from his base. This is his "read my lips" moment.

Blade we have had these pain in the ass and expensive background checks for years what is different with these? And what about the dreaded gun show loophole last time I was at a gun show there was only 1 non dealer and all he has was a left hand bolt action Savage model 110 I think! And I have never heard of a crime being committed with a gun show weapon!?

Nor have I.

We HAVE background checks....have had for years....but they are a farce.
I fill out the form and sign it, stand there while the guy makes a call to the FBI.....I'm not on their
radar, BINGO, I walk out with the gun (in Indiana you can do that). The big thing now is mental
health......well, the FBI has no information on people with mental health problems.....nor much of
anything else unless you have had some dealings with the FBI.
