We have a right to bear arms to defend against l*****t tyranny.

That doesn't mean with 22's and deer rifles.

I have hunted big game most of my life and any rational h****r in this country understands the insanity of using these weapons in a civilized society.
This blood money game being played by Trump and McConnell, two of the largest recipients of millions of dollars from the NRA is just plain ugly and Anti-American. The research has been measured on mass k*****gs by documented mentally challenged individuals and the numbers show less than 2% involvement. These ridiculous spins by these corrupt Republican paid pimps of the NRA just don't cut it. I submit that these political pimps, Republican or Democrat, mentally rationalizing that dollars are of more value than United States Citizens life are the scum of the earth, and the time has come for the investigative national media, both print and visual to be honorable to their craft and put these NRA, & Weapons Manufactures political donor pimps names out for public knowledge. These victims' families, friends, and every person traumatized by decades of these senseless k*****gs deserve to see the names of all of these government officials that are accessories to the open door policies for the continuation of more k*****g.

As a combat vet, you surely know the difference between a semi-auto and an assault weapon.

Rock n' roll weapons like M4s, M-16s and AK-47s or '74s are not legally available to private citizens without serious checks, a valid reason for ownership and payment to the government of a t***sfer fee.

Therefore, any active shooter in possession of an actual assault weapon has not obtained it legally.

If he employed a bump stock, filed down the sere or made some other modifications that converted a semi-auto to full auto, he was breaking the law, since unless I'm mistaken bump stocks are now illegal.

Having said that, making more laws that only affect those who purchase their firearms legally as it is and use them for hunting, competition or to carry, with proper permits, for armed security work or self defense and are responsible gun owners would only infringe upon their Second Amendment rights without making anybody any safer.

As a life NRA member myself, I also have a difficult time with your insinuation that those elected officials, including President Trump, endorse our right to keep and bear arms for corrupt purposes.

There are Americans about who actually respect the Bill of Rights as being an integral part of our liberty.

Well, if you find a musket adequate in today's quick and dangerous world...go for it.

You folks like to point to the Constitution as obsolete, and want modern ideals to be included.

But using a musket to defend your home and loved ones seems obsolete to any rational consideration.

A musket is not much defense against a home invasion with more than one perp with Glocks and 17 rounds each.

Any self defense should be quick-decisive-final.

A musket is a club after the first go.

That would be a horrible situation to face.

This weekend's mass shootings weren't the only ones in recent history.... Dec 14,2012 Sandy Hook massacre that k**led 26 people, including 20 children ages from 6 to 7...Congress was supposed to do something about gun control, end up doing nothing!!!!....Will it happen this time???...Or doing something about mental illness???..We DO need stricter gun laws, but we also need to do something about mental illness...Will Congress and the Senate come back from their summer vacation and propose the law that addresses these 2 problems together???....I would like to think so,but i wont hold my breath!!!..Especially from Congress that really truly h**es this President, more then they love this country.....And that is very unfortunate!!!!

Amen! In my youth, I'd walk into a lion's den without much worry, but not anymore. Today I need and want an equalizer. Thankfully, I have several and my 9mm is always loaded with one in the chamber and less than a foot from my hand.
