Not here... In Canada there is no smoking inside.. The owner has no say in the matter...

Well, I'm no lawyer, but I do remember a law passed here in Florida about ten years ago banning smoking in restaurants, or bars selling more food than liquor by revenue. I don't know about businesses. For instance, a cigar shop nearby still allows patrons to light up in the store but not in the humidor, for obvious reasons. I've literally never worked in a place where smoking was allowed right there while working. I've heard they existed, once...

That can't be a good thing for many parts of this country where wages are lower than in most big cities in the far East and far West of this country. There is a different type of economy in these other states and cities from the large populated states. Some areas just couldn't sustain such a rate increase of the minimum wage across this country. Many would lose their jobs or need to have their hours cut to be able to claim some sort of welfare. This happened on the West Cost where it was adopted.

I'd be interested in finding out where the Federal government derives this 'authority' to tell people how much to pay each other for the services they provide. As far as I know, all Federal authority is derived from the Constitution, and there's nothing in there about 'minimum wages' so, from whence does this come?
