Why is President Donald Trump so popular among Americans?

He’s not. He’s the first president in history whose disapproval ratings have always been higher than his approval ratings.

That said, about 42% of the country thinks he’s wonderful, which is… horrifying.

But here’s the thing. When he accepted the Republication nomination in 2016, his approval rating was 42%. Everything that has happened — both good and bad — in the three years since has essentially had no impact whatsoever on his popularity.

Americans either love him or h**e him, and his policies have almost nothing to do with that.

The core of his support is evangelical Christians, which is pretty funny given that he’s violated all 10 of those Commandments. They are also the people most likely to think America is changing culturally in ways that will reduce their status. To them MAGA t***slates to “Let’s go back to the days when we ran the show and everyone else knew their place.”

He also does well with the aggrieved. There are a lot of Americans who think “other countries have been ripping us off” and love it when he tariffs everyone from China to Canada. They’re not interested in the reality that tariffs are a tax on Americans. They’re not doing it for the revenue, they’re doing it to show the world who’s boss.

And then there’s a group that enjoys “owning the libtards.” They think it’s fun to watch trump trash mainstream news, the FBI, the State Department, all Dems, the “elites” (even though Trump inevitably goes on to claim he’s more elite than they are), etc.

Running through all three groups is anger and a desire for dominance. And that’s a pretty good description of Donald J. Trump.

I find it interesting how after almost three years you haven’t stopped crying yet. First of all, we all have a right to our own beliefs, and that even includes conservatives. Even Evangelical Christians have a right to believe what they want and v**e for who they want. What I find offensive is how your always telling why people that v**ed for Trump, v**ed for Trump. You don’t know me or how I think.

I do happen to think he’s a wonderful President though. When he ran for president, he made promises, and everyday, I see him out there fighting to keep those promises. What I saw with Obama was just the opposite. He made a bunch of promises during the campaign, and when he got elected, with the exception of Obamacare, all the promises went down the drain. His red line in Syria was a total lie. Trump makes things happen. Obama talked a lot. He read a great speech.

I believe Trump has a higher approval rating than 42%. I think a lot of people don’t admit they support Trump because they think they will be called r****t, but, come E******n Day, they will pull the lever for Trump. Where is Hillary’s rating, plus Trump, is at the same rating as Obama was at this point in his first, term.

I am a Christian, and I think Make America Great Again means getting back to good values, not trying to abolish Christianity, God and Judeo Christian values, respecting each other, regardless of who or what we are or aspire to be, being the biggest world military power responsibly, being a nation of laws, leading the way in the world, not leading from behind and always apologizing for our country, leading our own way into space again, a healthy and thriving economy for everyone, national p***e, education and medical breakthroughs. These are the type of things Trump supporters want, not the nonsense w***e s*******y crap you and your h**eful friends on the left are pushing.

Would you mind, or at least try to explain to me, why it is that even though you know you are pushing a false narrative, you and your leftie friends keep on sticking with this same story, even though you, know it is bad for the country. You are willing to let the country get torn to pieces, rather than just accept the results of an e******n. You talk about, horrible!

America is being attacked on two fronts.
The Islamic attack and the Latin American invasion on our southern border.
The question is can we as a nation withstand it!

Any chart of our progress will show this to be a fact you can not dispute..

Wait, where have I heard “ Bush’s fault” before?
Oh now I remember, it was Obama’s mantra for about the first 6 years of his administration.
Question: how many times have you heard Trump heap deserved blame on Obama for the mess that Obama left Trump?
Answer: zero, none, zip, nada.
That’s the difference between a real leader and a pretend leader.

So who ever is President is responsible for what ever happens ?????????

I have pointed out that would make Obama responsible for the BP oil spill.

I do not believe that. You would if Trump or Bush had been President.

More Trump bashing, permie?. It’s what we’ve come to expect from you.
Why don’t you give Trump supporters credit for rewarding results. That’s really all we’re interested in. Who cares if he’s orange or purple? Or has a different hairstyle? I don’t care. And I don’t know any other Trump supporter who cares about any of your laundry list of complaints including breaking all 10 commandments, w***e s*******y, tariffs, MAGA being code for wh**ever, and on and on.
Have you bothered to notice that the US is the strongest economy in the world now? Or that America’s military is second to none?
And who even cares about that has-been Paul ‘Rino’ Ryan anymore? He has his chance to embrace the Trump agenda but blew it. So he’s ancient history.
Unless you can open your eyes to objectively appreciate all the good that Trump is doing for America, the next 5.5 years are going to be unbearable for you. So get on the Trump train and enjoy all the blessings that are the promise of America. Or get run over by an unstoppable force. The choice is yours.

America has always had one of the strongest economies in the world...long before Trump was even heard of. As a former US Navy combatant, I can assure we have had the strongest military since WWII...once again no thanks to the draft-dodging Trump. Your loyalty is sorely misplaced. Wh**ever will you do once Trump is no longer in office? sad.

how imbecilic... I know full well, long age proven that you orange cult people do n ot care what the orange con man does.. you will kiss his feet and praise on demand forever..

While you say every day that he has done so much for the county, you can never name a damn thing..

Is it the gift of wealth to the very rich and himself. is the the end of our world leadership? It it the attempt to remove healthcare for millions of Americans.. is it pushing Turkey out of NATO, is it tariffs which cost farmers markets which required decades to reach, is it we the taxpayers spending billions to bail out the farmers who for now carry the burden of those tariffs..

Is it the fantastic growth of our national dept which will be paid, not by you, but by children and grand children of us all.

To say trump has done good for the nation and then not be able to name anything is pathetic beyond the meaning of the word..

I can assure you, during Obama’s administration America’s economy wasn’t anywhere nearly as strong as Trump has made it by cutting taxes, eliminating and reducing regulations. Obama h**ed cutting taxes and loved burdening business with ever more regulations. Of course, as a Saul Alinsky follower, he was a c*******t at heart and h**ed capitalism.
We do have one thing in common. We’re both Navy vets. I was an aviation ordnanceman 3rd class and my job was loading bombs on airplanes aboard the carriers USS Kitty Hawk and Ticonderoga on Yankee Station in the Gulf of Tonkin off Vietnam.
But there’s no doubt that Obama’s seriously weakened the military by cutting funding. Thankfully Trump has restored their funding. So we’re # 1 again.
I like Trump because he gets results.
Who cares if he didn’t serve in the military? I don’t. I didn’t even consider v****g for him until my first choice, Ted Cruz, dropped out. So my choices were Hillary or Trump. I already knew too much about Hillary and as Trump told black v**ers, ‘what do you have to lose?’ So I v**ed for him.
And I’ve been very pleased ever since he became my President.

trump was left with a working recovered economy, a solid international situation and a healthy nation.

He is doing what he can to end all that.

President Obama had to contend with the great recession, worse in 70 years, two unfinanced wars, Plan "D" with no funding, tax cuts which left our government with out the resources to pay our debts..

He did a great job recovering from that and trump had it all handed to him on a silver platter.

trump has done nothing but lower our position in the world..

I was also around while Obama was president. I distinctly recall Obama "never bashing Bush" -but saying "due to previous decisions, or a lack of decision I am now...."

At least once per day, every day since he's been in office, Trump has blamed Obama/and or Hillary for all the problems in the world, including Russia's interference to help Trump get elected. Such blatant "lying" should be beneath you Walt....and I know that you know better!

trumps action had no effect on anything other then the stock market which with the mountain of money he gave to the very rich and himself, at our expense was used mainly for stock buy back to make even greater gains for the rich.

President Obama did indeed cut taxes.. he made a large cut for all who draw a paycheck, reduced payroll taxes by near 50%... but that does not count in your eyes at all..

Military, we have never been any other the #1 military in the world since WWll, the cuts which you are so concerned about and amounted to only cents on the dollar were for the across the board cuts when congress refused to fund our government as needed..

Obama did get a 400 billion dollar additional defense bill for modernizing our nuclear arsenal..

results, see my chart on another post.. no results compared to president Obama, even while controlling all of government.. could not get it done..
