The thought that entered my mind as I reached the closing paragraph was a memory of a cartoon I saw, and I wish I could quote the source, that had two Native Americans looking out over the Mojave Desert as a mushroom shaped cloud rose into the sky. Anything what so ever would convince you that Toplansky's statements are true. We read what we want to read and disregard the rest. It is called the confirmation bias. Look it up.
