I think the best steaks I ever had were from an old roping steer a friend talked me into going halves on. It was in Colorado, been running wild on grass for 5, or 6 years, and we had to catch it.
Well, after that s**tshow, we took it to a small town butcher who hung it for something like 21 days before cutting it up. You could cut it with a fork.
The whole ordeal would have been easier if the butcher didn't insist on it being delivered alive!

That's the trouble with most places is they don't have the patience to do things the right way. Dry h*****g is the best but it takes time nowadays the want to k**l it and cut it up and have it in the meat cooler with in the next days time. That's why beef is tough today.

I'll take a chewy steak over tofu any day.
The most critical time in my life was that I when i turned vegan for 11 minutes. I had to be rushed to a steakhouse. I was there for 3 days before I recovered.
If I were sentenced to eat one food only, it would be steak, with hopes that other cuts of beef would be permitted.

I really prefer a more varied diet. Beef, Veal, Pork , then beef veal and beef, need some variety to the diet, all with fresh garden vegetables of course, NO STORE BOUGHt, just out of the garden, and raw if possible, like peas, broccoli (raw only) string beans. Breakfast must include farm fresh eggs, from next door laid that morning, and coffee-coffee-coffee

I agree, but beef is my favorite.
I'm a chef and I appreciate all foods.
And, nothing packaged, but store bought is my only choice now, until the summer vegetable season starts.

An interesting side remark for those who are trying to train their dogs and need rewards. All of our dogs LOVE raw broccoli as a treat for doing what the trainer wants, a little goes a long way but is a great varietion for trainers whose dogs get tired of hot dogs and cooked chicken breasts, just the flower part. Our friend who raises Welsh Terriers had a dog that was not responding to commands as she wanted so she added broccoli to the rewards and said "want Broccoli" before giving the dog a little piece. She got to one obedience trial and the dog was not responding well, you can't use treats in the ring so she said "broccoli heal" Broccoli come and the dog worked perfectly and finished her title, the judge never figured out that the dogs name was not "broccoli".
