Most people have no idea what a suppressor ("silencer") actually does. It does NOT reduce the sound of a gunshot to a whisper. It's still pretty loud. Even in anti gun Europe, suppressors are quite common to reduce the noise of weapons being fired at a range, etc.

I had the opportunity to shoot a Colt .45 1911 equipped with a suppressor and it cut down the report by over half, which is substantial. Granted, it's not whisper quiet like in the movies, but it does effectively reduce the sound of the shot being fired. Personally I have never felt the need for a silencer on any of my firearms, because I'm not a criminal and will do nothing nefarious or illegal with them which would require a silencer~

It wasn't Trump making scare words as Saturday Night Special to keep affordable gun out of the poor's hands. It wasn't Trump that forbids firearms in government housing and it wasn't trump making gun law against the poor not allowing them the right of self defense. No Repug ran city has murder rate rates of 65 per 100,000 or 30 per 100,000. As a matter of fact if you subtracted the 10 top Democrat cities from America's average average of 4.5 per 100,000 America would be second from the bottom of a list of all nations in gun deaths. I understand and that is why your'e so full of it it's coming out your ears.

First call it what it is, a suppressor Even if the bullet doesn't break the speed of sound it still makes noise and it has nothing to do with criminals. It's to do with not dealing with ear plugs and hearing loss. How many times have you forgot to put in your plugs and had water running like a river in your ears for sometimes weeks. I have never heard of a criminal using a suppressor but with my hearing I might have missed it. I have heard of all the drive by bayoneting in California so they outlawed them.

police should be band from acepting gifts of arms or equipment from the government. Police depts should be in complete control of their city's and counties.

I'm not sure where you are going wolf. There is no one more pro 2nd Amendment than me, however bump stocks and suppressors are not needed in this country for civilian use. You go DJT, I'm behind you 100%!

I as well feel we should have access to all firearms that are not fully automatic. If you can't get the job done with a semi-auto you are in trouble~

Maybe a good compromise on bumpstocks would be to treat them the same as automatic weapons. Still legal but with a lot more hoops to jump through. Suppressors should be legal for health reasons. They do not make gun shots whisper quiet, but they do reduce the noise level below immediate and permanent damage levels. While you can do the same thing with ear plugs, ear plugs limit everything you hear including any range instructions or the sound of the animal you're hunting coming through the woods.
