I have known about them for years. When they started making frankenfood other countries had the good sense to ban it. We on the other hand embraced it along with roundup.

Yes we did. And our government keeps enabling them

The GMO products are designed by evil empire money.

They should be under heavy regulatory oversight.

I don't like this move.

For large knuckles across the forehead comes to mind.

It's good to see everybody on the same page on this topic. Not to repeat what has been already said does anybody here know anyone who was good at starting a rolling petition to get as many names as possible and knock somebody on the head with our requests to stop it. If there are natural ways of repelling insects from attacking the crops or getting rid of the weeds maybe there needs to be a way to make that happen

While other countries outlaw GMO we pass laws where we don't even know when we are eating it. At the same time can food now comes with an expiration date. I don't know of any other agency where every member has financial ties to the industry it is suppose to regulate. Corruption times ten.

That applies to just about every government agency. Every oversight board has members from the regulated industry. :It's only fair," sayeth the authorities.

Personally, I do think we should know the makeup of the foods we ingest but I have a very dim view of any assertion that we might be the only country where this happens. I suspect Red China had many such interchanges of information for rules.

Thomas Sowell, the great libertarian (black) economist has often observed the questionability of having people with nothing at stake regulating industries. When those industries face legal action, both punitive and financial, as a consequence, they will likely clean up their acts very quickly.

But everyone should remember that there will always be failures and government intervention creates more problems than it solves. Just look at the FDA which began as simply regulating food. It was founded after Lincoln Steffens published his book, The Jungle?, publicizing horrors in the food processing industry in the Chicago slaughter houses. This was the same Lincoln Steffens who came back from a tour of the Soviet Union gushing, "I have seen the future & it works!"

Personally, I think food sources should be labeled for consumer education's sake. To some, it will not matter but to many it will.

Happy father's day to you, you "h*****g in the air flatulence"..

I totally agree that GMO is a control thing more than a bug free hearty crop.

There aren't any consumption positives to be gained.

Over in Ashland, the most progressively radical city in OREGON...those real smart folks over there allowed Monsanto to come in to a pesticide free, organic, no hormones allowed environment.

Monsanto was going to sue small farms if they (Monsanto) cross contaminated the small organic farmers crops.

Monsanto,.. also was very disturbed when a few hold over hippies plowed up Monsanto's beets...many acres of beets😀

Conglomerates like Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals are actually responsible for many deaths worldwide...as you are aware of.

I wonder if they eat what they procure. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. I want to see them sit down and eat a big whopping bowl of GMO mush mush.

Like I was saying, plants that thrive on roundup? You know chemicals are in the end product.

We get whole grass fed beef from cows grown locally, once you have that it's hard to buy beef from the store, it tastes way different. We also butchered two of our Scottish Highland cows and split them with a neighbor.

We don't use roundup, my wife found something that has natural ingredients that k**ls weeds, that and a weedeater and a push trimmer.

Good for you! We always buy organic celery, peppers, strawberries - since those are the most pesticided contaminated vegetables. We also buy meat products free from added hormones or anti-biotics. About half our beef we eat is grass fed, but to be honest with you, I usually find it a bit tougher and less favorable than corn fed beef. We also make our own weed k**ler using white vinegar, dawn detergent, and epsome salt.

I admire the fact that you butcher your own cows. That would be a bit more than I would be willing to do at this point in my life.
