I'm not sure WTF you are talking about here. Putin stated publicly that he supported the e******n of Trump plus all his meddling was in one direction. Putin is conservative and anti-democracy on a mission to destroy democracy where ever he can. This isn't about chaos but the destruction of democracy anyway they can...

Putin is a brilliant strategist and chess player, working many moves into the future.

To start with he could not possibly have thought Trump would win, it didn't matter, the damage he had sown would have wreaked havoc in terms of dividing this country. Butt hurt Trump supporters threatening civil war, the GOP had articles of impeachment ready to kick off the first month Hillary was in office, Obama would have been hounded for moronic things like "illegal wiretaps on Trump". The Russian interference would have been lost in the furor over Hillary stealing the e******n.

T***p w*n, more to the good, Putin has gotten favor after favor from Trump that has turned Russia around financially. The first few weeks of Trump taking office the GOP lifted the requirement that corporations disclose any financial t***sactions with foreign entities, think Exxon's $500 Billion cash deal to Russia and their new interest in developing Russian oil reserves.

Now think what Putin is doing, he is sending signals that relations between the country are deteriorating. Lets say dirt on Trump is "leaked", we have a divide that will easily see it as coming from the deep state. Lets say dirt is given to our intelligence services by other intelligence partners, same thing. No matter how credible Trump and his supporters will give nothing any credibility. Let's say dirt and leaks, and the internet social media machine ramps up into full gear as far as division is concerned. Dems are given the dirt on Trump, social media misinformation fuels the right by ramping up dirt on Trump that looks to benefit dems. The way the right belief system works is that they refuse to believe anything bad, and automatically reject anything bad that comes from the left.

There will be e******n f***d by the right, we know this since they refuse to do anything about e******n security or hard b****ts, but the lip service rhetoric will be about the left stealing the e******ns. Russia will be taking division and chaos to new levels, we won't know what's up.

Oh yeah, the crying will be an endless nightmare and many conspiracy theories will spring forth from it. I am dreading it already.

What? You think Putin hasn't already started? Perhaps we should check out what RT is putting out. Just remember, the best propaganda is very subtle. Harsh propaganda is too easily seen through, though alt-right nut jobs fail to see through it, I am sure SOME of us know why.

Timeline seems pretty clear to me. You asserted that Trump will win in 2020 because "And remember, the more they try to smear and ridicule him, the more he wins.". WoodGuru was merely pointing out that DESPITE "the more they try to smear and ridicule him", Republicans lost the house during the midterms. Interesting how Trump supporters try to claim "liberals" are stupid yet they always seem to have to explain reality to Trump supporters. The reality is that it was Trump and his buffoonery that lost the house in the midterms. How can anybody stand behind one so incompetent as Trump, that is a mystery, yet you seem to think that he is a shoo-in in 2020. There is a chance, however slim that lightning may strike twice come 2020, but I am certain that IF it does, the Republicans will likely lose the Senate too in 2020.

What is your argument Blade? This was investigated by the Republican congress and none of the egregious actions you cite took place. They could pin less on Obama than Mueller was able to pin on Trump. And Soros? We are only talking about only 350K here so it could have come from sources other than a LW billionaire...including the US Treasury.

And are you trying to give justification to Putin for his meddling in our e******n? Is this your way of blaming Obama for Putin's over the top attempt to make Trump the president of the United States?

Yeah, Pete, we already know that democrats, l*****ts and liberal progressives are perfect human beings--without blemish, incapable of wrong doing, and beyond the law.

In 2016, White House director of cybersecurity, Michael Daniel, was particularly concerned when he learned in June that Russian actors had infiltrated critical e******n infrastructure in several US states. The attacks began occurring so often that a National Security Council staffer began regularly updating Daniel about them. E******n systems in as many as 39 states could have been attacked, though v****g tallies were not believed to have been altered or manipulated in any way.

In Illinois, investigators found evidence that cyber intruders tried to delete or alter v**er data, The hackers accessed software designed to be used by poll workers on E******n Day, and in at least one state accessed a campaign finance database.

As evidence of Russian cyberactivity targeting the US e******n emerged, Daniel and Celeste Wallander, the top Russia analyst on the National Security Council, pushed for the US to strike back at Russia, and hard.

"I wanted to send a signal that we would not tolerate disruptions to our e*******l process," Daniel said, according to the book. "The Russians are going to push as hard as they can until we start pushing back."

Daniel and Wallander then laid out a number of aggressive options, including targeting the Russian intelligence community and Russia-linked actors through a string of NSA-backed cyberattacks; leaking classified intelligence revealing the financial activities of Putin and his family members; and announcing a joint US-NATO "cyber exercise" to make clear to Russia that the US and the West was capable of crippling the entire country.

Why did Susan Rice, Obama's National Security Advisor, call Daniel into her office and tell him to "Stand Down"?

Question: "Why did Susan Rice, Obama's National Security Advisor, call Daniel into her office and tell him to "Stand Down"?"

Answer: To appease Mitch McConnell and the alt-right. He didn't want his response to be viewed as a partisan act of spite.

Prior to the e******n, however, when FBI Director James Comey, Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson and other officials met with the leadership of both parties to make the case for a bipartisan statement warning Russia that such actions would not be tolerated, "McConnell raised doubts about the underlying intelligence and made clear to the administration that he would consider any effort by the White House to challenge the Russians publicly an act of partisan politics"

Basically, Obama caved to the partisan politics of the right. A case of "damned if you do, damned if you don't".

Still you, I never suggested that Trump was on the ticket in 2018, it was only your feeble mind that made such an asinine connection. They are called "mid-term" e******ns for a reason, they fall "mid-term" of p**********l terms. Think before you post, posting i***tic statements like your's only make YOU look stupid, NOT the other person.

Democrats have 20+ possibles to wade through, they have to get rid of those who haven't a snowball's chance in hell as soon as possible. Then when things get serious, those hopefuls left on the field will have to dip into their war chests in order to eliminate each other. All of them have already given away everything they possibly can--free education, free healthcare, free jobs, free citizenship, free food, free cars, free TVs, free drugs, free wh**ever. None of them have proposed who is going to pay for all this free stuff.

Trump doesn't have that problem. He can start right now in exploiting the utter stupidity of democrat socialism, and he doesn't have to spend a lot of money doing it.

Bulls**t. Obama never caved to partisan politics, he is the embodiment of partisan politics.

Wrong answer. Obama never appeased anyone but himself.

The alt-right is a largely online phenomenon, it originated in the U.S. during the 2010s although has since established a presence in various other countries. The term is ill-defined, having been used in different ways by various self-described "alt-rightists", media commentators, and academics. The alt-right does not, in any way shape or form, represent the mainstream American conservative base.

Oh, I never said he stands NO CHANCE of winning, merely that he stands little chance of winning. He has shown us that he doesn't have what it takes to even make a competent president much less a great one so the intelligent v**e will likely go to his opponent, whomever that may be. IF he manages to win, against all odds, it will likely be a lame duck term with both the House and Senate in Democratic hands. Trump refuses to compromise and as such, anything Congress puts forth, he would veto and they won't give him anything he wants so nothing would be done for another four years. Do we really want that? Of course there IS the possibility that there will be enough v**es in Congress to override a veto, but that would likely require bipartisan support.

If you are going to ignore facts, there really isn't any point in discussing this any further is there?

Edit: Do you deny the fact that Mitch McConnell said that he he would consider any effort by the White House to challenge the Russians publicly an act of partisan politics? Do your research and stop believing every lie you hear/read from your alt-right sources.

McConnell is a RINO/neocon trotsky/g*******t, he's been a thorn in our side for a long time...Unlike l*****ts we conservatives don't walk in lockstep with the GOP and we excoriate our own

And an alt right source is something hillbilly clintock supporters came up with...next you'll be howling conspiracy theory

I don't have any alt-right sources. I wouldn't even know where to look for one.

Who give a flying fk what Mitch "the snake" McConnell would consider as partisan politics? He's an establishment RINO as partisan as they come.

McConnell's wife, Elaine Chao, was born in Taiwan. She is the Secretary of T***sportation.

McConnell’s Wife Gave Him a Special Ree******n Present: $78 Million in Federal Funding

NYT Confirms Schweizer ‘Secret Empires’ Bombshell on Elaine Chao and Mitch McConnell’s China Ties

A trove of more than 800 pages of emails sheds new light on the working relationship between T***sportation Secretary Elaine Chao and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, one of the most potent power couples in Washington — including their dealings with McConnell supporters from their home state of Kentucky.

Chao has met at least 10 times with politicians and business leaders from the state in response to requests from McConnell’s office, according to documents provided to Politico by the watchdog group American Oversight. In some cases, those people later received what they were hoping for from Chao’s department, including infrastructure grants, the designation of an interstate highway and assistance in getting state funds for a highway project — although the documents don’t indicate that the meetings led to those outcomes.

The records also do not show how frequently Chao has met with people from outside Kentucky, a state her husband has represented in the Senate since 1985, or how readily she has responded to similar requests from other lawmakers. But at least a dozen of the emails show McConnell’s staff acting as a conduit between Chao and Kentucky political figures or business leaders, some of whom previously have had relationships with the couple.

In one email from Feb. 2, 2017, just days after Chao was sworn in, McConnell’s state director emailed a Chao lieutenant asking the secretary to meet with maritime industry lobbyist Jim Adams about proposed changes to “Buy American, Hire American” requirements for offshore drilling equipment. The lobbyist and his wife, a Kentucky state senator who used to work for McConnell, donated $1,500 to McConnell’s 2014 ree******n campaign, according to Federal E******n Commission filings.

“The Secretary knows them both well,” McConnell state director Terry Carmack wrote to Todd Inman, who at the time was director of operations at the Department of T***sportation. Chao met with the lobbyist the next month, according to her calendar.
