John's vision was the result of drugs according to Rummi.

He's about old enough, he could have been there, I suppose.

Bottom line..."when in the course of human events" at some point the Bible says we will meet a prophetic juncture where the threads converge. Well, here we are and here's the most significant thing to look for:

Mideast Peace Plan containing 4 elements:

1) Confirmation of the "covenant". It will be agreed by the parties that Israel has the right to establish borders within the area God gave to them.

2) The Palestinians will be given a homeland in Judea and Samaria, giving the Jews a place to "flee to the hills" (Jerusalem if you look at the map) from.

3) The Temple Mount will be divided and a Jewish Temple will be built posthaste. They are ready to do this.

4) The parties will put off the issue of Jerusalem for a period of time. 7 years, I bet.

Jerusalem is the ONE issue Kushner and Greenblatt discovered no one would budge on.

Now you might see the significance of UN Resolution 2334 which says Israel is illegally occupying Jerusalem.

This will be the excuse the "world government" uses to try to enforce its will. Thanks Mr. Obama for your lame duck abstention...NOT.

OH! Rummi...this enforcement of the world government's will is going to result in the battle you say won't happen.

God has painted such a vivid picture of what the world would be like when this time came I'm surprised people who should know aren't seeing it.

America is the Eagle's wings torn from the Lion, Great Britain, in Daniel. Our revolution was prophesied.

We are the eagle's wings given to the woman (Israel) in Revelation, where she's taken away to her place (safety in her borders) for time, times and half a time.

The angel told Daniel the meaning of the vision would be sealed until the time of the end. I bet Daniel was bummed!

Everyone who thought the prophecies were about times in the past were wrong.

Hum, my religious upbringing. don't worry about end of times, believe in Him, live each day as if it were your last, do unto others..., love your neighbor, If you deny me..., and the kicker-- For he that knoweth to do good and doeth it not, it is a sin. Ergo, not speaking up for what we know is God's will in these troubled times is a sin and a form of denial of God. Yes, I believe, and I'm trying to bear witness for Him.

A week ago, rumi posted Elaine Pagels' opinion of the book of Revelation.

rumi added "And this is not taking into account the Roman record that was very exacting about anything sent to the island of Patmos in 94 AD. It was a rye shipment that went bad. That produced LSD."

Pagel claims that the Apostle John and the John on the isle of Patmos are not the same man. Of the 12 disciples, John is the only one who was not executed, he was exiled to Patmos where he experienced the Revelation of Jesus Christ and died of old age.

Later in the thread, rumi posted: "I apologize for that post. I found it in some notes from thirty-five years ago and did not really give it a good read. Copy and paste. Very tired and feeling down. No excuse, just a weak explanation."

When you are "tired and feeling down", you shouldn't act on impulse. You do things you might regret.

The Bible’s answer on Armageddon.

The battle of Armageddon refers to the final war between human governments and God. These governments and their supporters oppose God even now by refusing to submit to his rulership. (Psalm 2:2) The battle of Armageddon will bring human rulership to an end.—Daniel 2:44.

The word “Armageddon” occurs only once in the Bible, at Revelation 16:16. Prophetically, Revelation shows that at “the place that is called in Hebrew Armageddon,” “the kings of the entire inhabited earth” will be gathered “together to the war of the great day of God the Almighty.”—Revelation 16:14.

Who will fight at Armageddon? See: Revelation 19:11-16, 19-21; Ezekiel 39:7.

Will Armageddon literally be fought in the Middle East? See: Jeremiah 25:32-34; Ezekiel 39:17-20; Judges 5:19, 20; 2 Kings 9:27; 23:29.

What will conditions be like during the battle of Armageddon? See: Job 38:22, 23; Ezekiel 38:19, 22; Habakkuk 3:10, 11; Zechariah 14:12; Ezekiel 38:21, 23; Zechariah 14:13.

Will Armageddon be the end of the world? It will not be the end of our planet, since the earth is mankind’s eternal home. See: Psalm 37:29; 96:10; Ecclesiastes 1:4.

Rather than destroying humanity, Armageddon actually saves it, because “a great crowd” of God’s servants will survive. See: Revelation 7:9, 14; Psalm 37:34. 1 John 2:15-17; Matthew 24:3.

When will Armageddon take place? See: Matthew 24:21, 36, Matthew 24:37-39.

One can do those things and be prophetically aware. Not the same thing as "worry" about the end of times.

Why would any Christian not ask the same question the disciples asked at the beginning of the chapter?

We're told to be vigilant over and over. Wise as serpents, gentle as lambs.

In those days they that know their God will instruct many...

There's an absolute need and requirement by God for there to be people in His church whose gifts, among all the gifts God liberally blesses us with, include prophecy/interpretation thereof/discernment of spirits.

God's gifts and calling are irrevocable, too, according to Scripture. Just ask Jonah.

Don't be beguiled by the "sleepy spirit" singing Beatles songs..."Love, Love, Love" etc. or the Dr. Feelgoods on TV. This is an appointed time. It's exciting to see God's word come to pass.

He mentioned it to me long ago. I became very sour on him for a while because I realized he thought he was being patronizing and he had been conversing from a point of "disengenuity" from the beginning.

He didn't just post it by accident last week. This idea has been rattling in his gourd for a long time.

Good post.

Armageddon is very simple. It will be an actual battle and I already listed the obvious steps that will lead to it. This stuff isn't hard.

It won't be the end of the world. The Bible says after the 6th Trumpet War (WWIII which some numbskulls on the left are suddenly all for) and the Battle of Armageddon 2/3 of humanity will be brought into the Millennial Kingdom.

I think the longevity gene and the rest of the damage done to our DNA will be fixed. I think we'll discover just how much damage was done to the physical universe by our spiritual fall. We'll see the long lives in Genesis were not exaggerated.

People brought in may not die...I'm not sure on that one but people born then will not die before, after 1000 years, "Satan is loosed a little while". People have wondered why God would do that. I think for the benefit of the people born then. Satan will be a sick demonstration...his final freak show appearance. I don't imagine he'll look much like an angel of light by then.

These people, brought in and born in will grow alongside of people who have glorified bodies if my read is right.

That will be very weird.

My step-dad occasionally accused me of being so smart I was dumb. There's room for that in the human psyche, I think.
