Nothing like the so-called AG Barr who has humiliatingly thrown himself at Trump’s feet.

Trump can stop blathering on about being the most t***sparent president in history (an obviously i***tic lie) and start making information available. Mueller's report is a great place to start, and if he thinks it's damaging to him that's even more reason.

He has refused to give congress any information since they took control of the house, and that includes subpoenas to drug companies for statistical oversight information. The white house GOP sent drug companies a letter telling them to refuse to comply with turning over information on the grounds that it would be used against them...duh, that's the idea dumbo.

First and foremost, Donald Trump is an American citizen. If congress issues a subpoena for a citizen's private records and a federal judge somewhere issues a ruling that a private corporation or business must submit those records to congress for scrutiny, this is an egregious breach of trust.

Banks, for example, have all kinds of security programs in place to protect the accounts of their customers from incursions by ID thieves and others, but if a bank is forced by federal decree to reveal a customers PRIVATE records to a congressional committee, then a precedent is set that exposes ALL American citizens to an invasion of privacy. And this would not be limited to just banks.

Banks are routinely asked to provide information about customers with regard to criminal and civil matters, such as money-laundering, tax fraud, financial fraud, bankruptcy fraud, but in order for banks to do this, they must be presented with probable cause, i.e., evidence. However, a congressional committee is a legislative body, not a criminal investigative agency--the FBI is the LE agency that investigates bank fraud. A subpoena by a HOR committee for a citizen's private records has no legitimate legislative purpose.

In the absence of sufficient probable cause or evidence, this would be a violation of a citizen's 4th Amendment and modern tort law protections. Put succinctly, this is police state tactics and every American citizen should be concerned,. This has implications for a wide swath of shareholders and customers.

Deutsche Bank and Capital One customers are already concerned. Deutsche Bank is facing plenty of other challenges already: It faces legal penalties for its role in a years-long Russian money-laundering scheme. Regulators in the U.S. and U.K. have fined the bank billions of dollars for various episodes of wrongdoing.

bladerunner writes "In the absence of sufficient probable cause or evidence". Thanks br. You've hit the nail on the head.

There IS sufficient probable cause and sufficient evidence. He cannot keep his taxes secret now that we've established that he's been trying to build a trump tower in moscow - post e******n.

Again, thank you

Again, Obama never had to spend the majority of his time fighting to keep his squalid history secret as Trump does.

That's because all the prosecutors were in his pocket.

Comey made several million dollars off of the Clinton Foundation before he was lead prosecutor of Hillary the Harpy. He and Loretta Lynch trivialized Hillary's crimes which constituted far more obstruction than Trump is accused of. There are people in prison right now for far less than the crimes Hillary committed which were downgraded to a "mistake." The people in prison had the audacity to commit those crimes when their last name wasn't Clinton.
