Woodbury and others: in flabbergasted how many of you here are legal scholars and geniuses.
You guys and gals should be Supreme Court justices, HAs and law school deans. And of course Constitutional scholars.
Rather than just opine on Trump and Barr, please give us a list of treatises and scholarly books you've written...with sources.

They can release it any time there is no further need to keep it secret. There is no reason not to release most of the Mueller report redactions except that it outlines criminal actions by Trump.

Barr can easily and simply ask that court protections be lifted, but he is covering for Trump, it's obviously hiding things that are worse than what we can see.

Even in the few cases where Trump could legitimately assert executive privilege, and they are few and specific, in any one that involves a crime there is no executive privilege. So all of McGann's testimony is fair game. Plus any attorney who is white house counsel, not Trump's personal attorneys works for and on behalf of the government, not Trump.

Barr will not break the law that Democrats put in place when Ken Starr investigated Bill Clinton. It is a law, and until it is changed, breaking it would constitute a crime. "OK, Attorney General Barr, we demand that you break the law....and when you do you will be held accountable and we will arrest you put you in jail." This is just ludicrous.

Since when has a lefty judge been independent and honest? Believe in the law??? Like the 9th circuit court, or one half of the Supreme Court. What a joke!

No judge is totally independent, but how they interpret and enforce the law must be.

A judge can access the report in un redacted form. its the judges attempt to publicise it and release to the press via public information as part of court records that is unlawful and offensive. Or why did Mueller put it in there?.

so who is ever going to participate in any investigation ever again when judges won't uphold the rule of law for their own personal witch hunts?

That's the real Mueller legacy. Publish a report that keeps your hands clean but allows an avidly exploitative media to obtain confidential information.

Objecting to a P**********l Tweet is not a serious pursuit for any elected official. unless they've sold out to interested parties and have a retirement yacht waiting on Grand Cayman.

no but you can unlect the Congressman putting his re e******n coffers ahead of national interests.

Pursuing an agenda of impeachment shows how many oeipke would rather embarrass this country around the world for decades weaken our positions at every bargaining table and lessen the like lihood of allies support.

Just to rope a steer they were bribed to lasso or stay in office on unimpeachment p.r. speeches because they were elected on no other merits.

I'm not too sure about that. I don't see AG Barr violating Federal Law at the whim of a Judge. Considering what this administration has done thus far, I wouldn't be surprised if Barr tells this ignorant of LAW Jurist to go pound sand~

We know now that the Kennedys did all kinds of underhanded stuff to obstruct justice. Robert Kennedy, when he was Attorney General, kept J. Edgar Hoover from divulging potential impeachable information on the President John Kennedy. We didn't hear anything from the liberal media at the time, and we still don't.

I think it's the "underlying documents" also known as "supporting documents" of thousands of pages of information is what Congress wants to get their hands on. That's where they can really go digging for lots of dirt, and that's what Trump's Protective Executive Privilege took care of. It put those documents wholly in the hands of the White House and out of Barr's possession. Barr cannot release those documents, and that's why this will all come to a standstill, imo.
