An Article from American Spotlight:

An entire school district has sent letters to its teachers that request they show specific, religious preferences for certain students.

The district is located in Seattle and asked teachers specifically to bless the districts Muslim students in Arabic during Ramadan.

The request also asks that these students be allowed to miss classes and exams during the month long Islamic holiday.

The letter instructs teachers to greet Muslim students with “Ramadan Mubarak” — “Happy Ramadan” — or “Ramadan Kareem,” which means “Have a generous Ramadan.”

The letter asks that students be excused from exams that fall on the more important days of Ramadan including Eid Al-Fitr and Eid-Al-Adha.

This caused quite the uproar with the religious liberty advocacy group, The Freedom of Conscience Defense Fund, threatening to take legal action.

The organization’s Executive Director, Daniel Piedra stated, “...by urging teachers to bless Muslim students in Arabic, the district is running roughshod over the First Amendment’s mandate of government neutrality toward religion.” He continued, “A school district would never order teachers to ‘welcome’ Catholic students during Easter with ‘He is risen, Alleluia!' Singling out Muslim students for special treatment is blatantly unconstitutional,” Piedra closed.

This comes even though patriotic staples, like the Pledge of Allegiance, have been banned because of Christian phrasing like “one nation, under god.”

Here we have a prime example of the true nature of Islam . . . they seek to impose their religious beliefs on all of society bit by bit! I do not know for a fact what the Islam religion dictates from their literature, but those that have searched the Quran and two other documents/books of the Islamic religion have concluded that Muslims have doctrinal authority to lie to anyone that is not a Muslim . . . and to impose Sharia Law on every society they find themselves living in!

So, talking to any Muslim about their religion is pointless because they will just lie in order to protect their position and redirect any argument set before them. We may encounter some peaceful Muslims, but, according to those who have done an extensive evaluation of the religion would question the depth of their faith of true Islam. Those who follow all three religious books of Islam are those that know anyone who is not Muslim is lower than dogs and deserve death for not believing in Allah.

This can be seen in the actions of Muslims around the globe . . . and now we see the beginnings of a major imposition upon the society of America! Perhaps it's time for the Federal Government to make a stand against all entities that seek to impose their religion on society!

The First Amendment of the Constitution specifically states "The First Amendment to the United States Constitution prevents Congress from making any law respecting an establishment of religion..." . . . and thus public schools, being directly connected to our Federal Government, do not have the authority to follow the requested requirements placed upon them by these Muslims in Washington State!!! They not only do not have to do what has been requested, they are Constitutionally bound NOT TO DO ANYTHING THAT THE MUSLIM RELIGION REQUESTS OF THEM!!!

I think ALL students should say the Pledge Of Allegiance. Why don't they just take out the "Under God"?
It was added June 14, 1954. It wasn't always in there and if it is banned just because of that, they should take it out again so that it can be put back into schools and if they don't like to say it that way they can just LEAVE! The Muslims want to slowly take over. Pretty soon our holidays will be OUT for some reason or other and we'll have nothing but theirs. Those that come to our country should do as our country does, not theirs. They should not expect anyone to have to use their language in America. NO special treatment.
By the way.....God will be there even if He's not in the pledge. (Hopefully....if He puts up with America much longer.)

We must hold all Muslims accountable for their actions and we must all understand what they’re here for...to dominate. This article proves they’re getting away with it.
Maybe Washington State and the entire West Coast could secede. I wouldn’t fight that.

Don’t take out underGod and, please, just say the Pledge of Allegiance. We do at all club meetings AND mean it. Schools need to make kids more aware of allegiance to America. And to GOD!

I SO believe that, Carol. It's just that to get the pledge back into the schools. I think that's necessary. The God part wasn't always in the pledge. I never said it that way when I was in school. It was before it was put in. I actually believe they should also say a silent prayer (or not) before starting the school day. But that will probably never happen again in what was once America.

Three books of Islam?

I am familiar with the Koran...
What are the other two?

This might come as a shock to the Muslim world...

It would seem the school board is attempting to be more inclusive...
Silly notion ...

Students should never be exempt from Exams or class because of this... Although they could apply for leave and do make up tests...

On the other hand there is nothing wrong with a holiday greeting...

Hello brother,

First, the three books or literature I was talking about are The Quran, the Sirat or Sirah, and the Hadith!
The following site gives an initial declaration on the subject:
https://www.answering-islam.org/Authors/JR/Future/ch02_the_sacred_texts_of_islam.htm

I agree with allowing students to miss school for religious reasons but not for an excuse from taking the test or exams at a later date.

The issue of making teachers address students a certain way for ANY religious reason is unconstitutional! Our public schools fall under the federal umbrella and thus are NOT authorized to take any position on religion whatsoever! Therefore, they are NOT authorized to speak in any religious terms . . . short of a class on religion . . . period!!!

...and as always, this is just my opinion!

This is a silly notion by the school board. As always muslims want special consideration. Just say no. We don’t assimilate to them

Teachers must not be required to address their students in a Muslim religious rites or authorized to practice Muslim rituals. It is unconstitutional, violation of Amendment I. Congress shall not make no law or allow religious practice.

Muslims must go back to where they came from if they don't assimilate to the Western Culture.

Constitution prohibits the use or establishment of any religion. This is a public school that taxpayers pay so much tax.

I find that there is a sect of Islam that is not as radical and doesn't believe or stand for some practices that are common in most Islamic nations. Those are the kind of Muslims that have blended in with the standards of American law and live peaceably in our society.

But those that strive to instill Sharia Law into Americas jurisprudence are overstepping their position. As most religious people, they seek to be Muslim first before claiming patriotism to any nation. Although I support this position, there is much to be weighed before one decides to not obey the laws of the land. Even today we have cases in courts where Christians choose to not bake a cake designed with gay paraphernalia and thus not condone homosexuality which is against their religion. So, there are reasons to place Gods word and commandments above the laws of the land!

But, whenever a religious group makes demands on our government officials or those who work in tax-funded entities, these groups demands must be flatly declined with the 1st Amendment declared as the foundation of their position!

Deportation is the last and final step to take in this issue and can not be taken without cause and a legal battle has taken place. If they are here legally, they have every right to treated as American citizens with all the rights we all have!

Lets not overstep our position either by demanding they be kicked out without exhausting every legal avenue available!

.....again, this is just my opinion!

I have heard of the Hadith of course... Whether or not they are holy seems to depend on the sect...
The Sirat I shall have to research...
Wonder if it belongs to the Shia...?

I agree...
I have never allowed students to retake or change test dates unless of illness or a family death....

I can understand the reasoning... I would have no issue with a teacher who chose to offer a religious greeting... But I find it offensive that teachers were instructed to do so....

As always, your opinion is most welcome

Thank you Kyle for a great point by point evaluation of my comment. This is a style of communication missing in many sites where people give their point of view. Personally, I strive to stay within the context of the comment I am addressing. This is done by a copy and paste of the comment to another program . . . reading through the comment so I get a good grasp of what is being said . . . then I write my response. And then one can't forget the main topic of conversation in the first place!

We can all learn from each other if we strive to stay on point . . . try and give support for our position . . . and strive to be as clear as possible in making our point. Perhaps this is asking to much from some but its worth a try just putting this thought out there.

...and again, this is just my opinion!
