Trump Turns to Legal Action to Prevent Democrats from Obtaining His Financial Records

From before the 2016 e******n, Democrats were demanding that Donald Trump produce his tax returns for the past 10 years.

Trump refused and this has Democrats claiming that he has to release them, when in reality, there is NOTHING that says any politician must release their personal tax information.

Believing that Trump has something to hide, some Democrats are trying to use subpoenas to obtain Trump’s financial records.

Trump’s attorneys have now filed a lawsuit to block the subpoenas designed to give his enemies access to his personal financial records.

Fox News – Trump sues to block Democrats’ subpoena for financial information – Lawyers for President Trump on Monday sued to block a subpoena issued by members of Congress that sought the business magnate’s financial records.

The complaint named Rep. Elijah Cummings, the Democratic chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform, and Peter Kenny, the chief investigative counsel of the House committee, as its plaintiffs.

“We will not allow Congressional P**********l harassment to go unanswered,” said Jay Sekulow, counsel to the president.

Earlier this month, Cummings, D-Md., said the committee would subpoena accounting firm Mazars USA LLC for Trump’s financial information. Cummings is seeking annual statements, periodic financial reports and independent auditors reports from Mazars, as well as records of communications with Trump…

The subpoenas to obtain Trump’s financial records is another example of the double-standard hypocrisy that Democrats follow.

Barack Obama hid many of his own personal records and Democrats defended his right to do so.

In fact, Obama never provided the official documents required for someone who is running for the White House. He didn’t produce the fraudulent birth certificate until AFTER he was sworn into office.

Many of Obama’s college and other personal records were sealed to prevent anyone from accessing them to learn about who the real Obama is, and yet the same Democrats who defended Obama are the ones trying to force Trump to release his personal information.

This is just more of the Democrats' fishing expedition hoping to find something the can use against Trump. It is h**e for a man in search of a crime to pin on him.

You do not know he is hiding anything. He just does not want to give in to another Democrat witch hunt. If he gives in to this then Democrats will want something else. It has to end at some point.

If people can’t see what’s going on, they are just blinded by h**e for a man who was born with a silver spoon and had the knack to turn it to gold. Envy is a very strong emotion. Everything about Obama was sealed or twisted. No one has the right to anyone ‘s financial records when they were not even holding office. They certainly have no right to the family financial records. How can the Justice Demartment just sit on their hands and do nothing. Start investigating treasonous activities ALREADY!!

Then there's the matter of all Trump's bank loan defaults, no American bank will lend him a dime, the lawsuits resulting from him stiffing contractors and workers, his Trump Foundation and Trump University being shut down due to massive fraud.
Yup, he's just a poor innocent being persecuted.

Carol, I believe there are plenty of serious investigations going on behind the scene. The guilty, and they know who they are, are scared to death so it's better not to tip your hand on the investigations. The President isn't going to let this just slip by like nothing happened. The difference is that there are no leaks. Mike

Who said he's 'hiding' anything? Just because he values his privacy doesn't mean he's hiding something. If you refuse to allow a cop to search your car, does that automatically indicate you're hiding something? Why should his tax returns be any different?

In 1924, after the Teapot Dome financial scandal in which gov’t. personnel were involved, Congress passed the law giving Congress the right to examine EVERYONE’s tax returns when there was suspicion of “irregularities”. Every president has revealed his returns since, but Trump is fighting tooth and nail to keep his secret. This after Donnie Jr. said once, “much money has flowed into the Trump Org. from Russia.”
