Look at how many times you use the phrase "government subsidized…." You do realize that the "government" was under the leadership of Obama right? BTW - job numbers can easily be manipulated as well. When we want to show improvement in the job market all we do is stop reporting the thousands who's benefits have run out -they still are unemployed -but since they aren't getting paid we don't count them -and voila! -the numbers look great. IF Trump was actually "creating" thousands and thousands of new jobs -please tell us where because I'm not seeing it in my community.

Exactly. Many government subsidized jobs were "created" under Obama, not Trump. Under Trump, industry is thriving so the need for employees has outstripped the job seekers. Competition for employers causes industry to raise wages and/or improve benefits. This comes from the employers NOT the taxpayers!!!! Neither Trump nor his administration is directly creating the jobs through taxpayers money. What is being done is making it more inviting for industry to operate INSIDE the US.

It is not improving in your community? Do you live in a Democrat run community where federal tax breaks and reduced federal regulations have been offset by state or local tax hikes and increased state regs? This is why so many businesses have left California.

America: I have chipped coal in a power plant for $5 an hour, no benefits, no healthcare. I have sold newspaper subscriptions door-to-door before the internet was popular. No, I believe honest work is good no matter what the job is. However, raising a family on minimum wage with no benefits is a plight I wish on no one. In my opinion, the biggest problem with 'decent jobs' and decent pay in this country is corporate greed. period.

Generally auto manufacturing jobs are full time, well above minimum wage, and include benefits. GM starting wages for manufacturing plants are between $22 to $25 per hour.

Yes...great work if you can get it. Only set back: I know several employees of Ford and GM who tell me they often have "lay-offs" and furloughs that may last 3-4 months before they can return to work....but something is better than nothing!

Since these hundreds of thousands of new jobs have only been available for less than 2 years, and many for less than a year; so how can there often be layoffs for 3 to 4 months? I think you are confusing the time period BEFORE Trump when many manufacturing jobs were outsourced and those remaining were on shaky ground at best. During the Obama years jobs were scarce and many were either part time minimum wage or government subsidized minimum wage. Yet I don't here you say, "...but something is better than nothing" when referring to the Obama 'created' jobs.

I have two friends who work for Ford in the Midwest. One has been on lay-off since January, the other just went back to work last month. Having endured several long periods of unemployment over my working career, I say "something is better than nothing" without any regard to who the president is. Since the president does not pay my bills - why do I care who's in office? Your apparent disdain for Obama is truly puzzling....did he do something to you personally?

Kind of like your visceral hatred of Trump.

The link and post I was responding to was GM new manufacturing jobs. You stated people in those jobs often have layoffs of 3 to 4 months. But despite that your friends aren't working in one of the new GM manufacturing plants, are they working in the manufacturing for Ford, or salaried jobs?

Here is some of what I've found about job expansions at Ford assembly plants.
https://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/news/2019/03/20/ford-to-add-900-jobs-at-michigan-electric-battery.html
https://chicago.cbslocal.com/2019/02/07/ford-chicago-assembly-stamping-plants-jobs-explorer-lincoln-navigator-police-interceptor-suvs/
https://media.ford.com/content/fordmedia/fna/us/en/news/2019/03/19/ford-boosts-production-for-expedition--adds-550-jobs.html

Now the above was just Ford. Here is info on manufacturing jobs as a whole.
https://www.forbes.com/sites/chuckdevore/2019/02/01/manufacturers-added-6-times-more-jobs-under-trump-than-under-obamas-last-2-years/#3e77fec95635

The issue is whether or not manufacturing jobs are better under Trump. Salary jobs are often bureaucratic and are being reduced. https://www.detroitnews.com/story/business/autos/ford/2019/03/13/ford-continue-salaried-layoffs-through-spring/3152682002/

ANYONE - including you that conducts him/herself as Trump does is truly not deserving of my affection. I don't h**e the man, I just don't like what he chooses to be, when God blessed him to be so much better. But I wouldn't expect you to understand such things.

How egalitarian of you, considering you don't understand such things yourself.
