This is the most historical Christian site in Europe.
The Notre Dame is 856-year-old, and was built for 100 years.
Henry VI of England was made king of France inside Notre-Dame in 1431. Napoleon Bonaparte, who also sought to save the storied cathedral, was crowned emperor there in 1804.
"A catastrophic fire at Paris's Notre-Dame cathedral has left a nation mourning the devastation of its cultural and historic "epicenter" and sent shockwaves around the world."
"Hundreds of firefighters tackled the historic blaze through the night, battling to stop it wreaking complete destruction of the treasured façade, after flames torched the roof, sending its spire crashing to the ground before crowds of horrified Parisians."
"This is what we know so far about the violent blaze:"
How did it start?
"The Paris prosecutor's office said it was treating the fire as an accident, ruling out arson and possible terror-related motives, at least for now.
The fire began around 6.50 pm (5.50pm UK time)."
"I was not far away, I saw the smoke. At first I thought it was the Hotel-Dieu (hospital) but then I realized it was the cathedral. When I arrived, ash was beginning to fall," said Olivier De Chalus, head volunteer guide of the cathedral."
"Most of the valuable artifacts and ancient arts have been saved. This Cathedral has been one of the most famous ancient tourism site in Paris. PM Macron vowed to rebuild."
I think Catholics all over must help Paris rebuild this historic site. I want to help.
I still can't rule out terrorism. A very clever terrorist could easily cover it under guise of "mistaken repairs", but I till would not role our terrorism. This week is a Holy Week, and Islam want to erase Christianity from the face of the earth. Europe is populated with Islam.
The Notre Dame was saved from the German bombings of Paris during WW1 and WW2. It was also saved in 1859, when London and Paris had fought. That was how Charles Dickens wrote, "The Tale of Two Cities".
