Why? Did you throw all the Hobbit Fart Huffers from South of the state line out of the county? I lived in Coos Bay briefly back in the seventies, and even then half the people were from California.
I grew up in NM. Do you know how hard it is to find someone in New Mexico that is from there now?
People are free to go as they please--This is America. Coos county has provided well for me. A good percentage of the locals came from the southern states 2 generations ago when the timber economy was booming. It rarely snows here and we get a lot of people from snowy states relocating here to retire. We have Katrina refuges who rebuilt their lives here and a small Hispanic community who are hard working -church going-- family orientated decent people who are model citizens.. I am a t***splant from Klamath county on the California border. I adapted. I had to learn to call a Clevis a shackle and a tail sawyer an off bearer also a Knot bumper became a Landing Chaser and I had to change my winter attire to rain gear. It was a challenge but I adapted. Sorry that you did not find your way there but every body does find that niche in life where they put down roots.
