I have family in NM. They moved to California briefly. When they moved back to NM, they said there were so many Californians there it was like they'd never moved back. I left there in about 1980.
I've never cared for Phoenix, or any other big town. Back in the day, Tuscon was pretty nice.

I have always wanted to go see Oatman and the burros. Someday I will. I like small town life that's why I live where I do. It is a blessing to see familiar faces--go to any cafe and they know your order and have folks wave at you driving by. Ain't gonna get that in a big city.
