That was a tough lesson......

We selcome lock the house. Two 140 pound Mastiffs tend to keep strangers away, and the two small dogs are tough too.

I can imagine! I went out to Jayme's earlier, and her Cane Corso is enough to make anyone think twice about entering the gate. Except for the guy who reads their electric meter. He throws a treat across the yard for the bulldog, then has a wrestling match with the big lug before reading their meter, and leaving.

great time.. everyone needs days like this now and then..

It’ll be time for fishing before you know it. I just confirmed access to a private strip mine lake that’s overflowing with gigantic panfish and bass. It’ll be a good year for me. I’m looking forward to your fishing report, Permi

Will be a bit yet up in this neck of the woods... ice wont be out for about 2 more weeks..

was hoping for an early catch but looks like that will not go down..

But, with a late date for open water often that makes a short but very active first fishing days..

Old strip mines are often good fishing. Some of the old iron pits are near famous for the fishing..

Maybe I will get my gear ready just in case.. good thinking,,,thank you for the reminder...

Actually, once you are welcomed into the house they are very friendly. Don't forget they are therapy dogs, but they are not to be threatened by some fool, who would regret it sincerely.

This one is 9 months now, and I haven't seen him in a couple of months, but his excitement at seeing me nearly rolled me down the hill. After he calmed down, very obedient, loving, and gentle. But he's HUGE, and still a pup!

we have a metal safe near the back door with a spare key it looks like a tv remote but you have to remember the code. I know how you feel I had to break a window to get into my house when I let my keys in there

How much does he weigh now? How tall is he at the whithers (shoulder) he is probably about 80% grown height wise and 65 to 70 % in weight. The standard calls for males 120 to 140 pounds at maturity which is 2 to 2 1/2 years. B***hes (females) should be 85 to 110 pounds. Tell her not to overfeed him, keep him on the light weight side, bloat, dysplasia, and spinal problems are real common, particularly when overfed and encouraged to gulp food.

wo w a great day. melted nearly all the snow..

People came out of the wood work..

first a bunch of shooters, used the natural "safe" spot always used for shooting. all the assorted bang sticks plus the stuff they can explode by shooting it.. for get what it is called.. plenty of bang. bet all the squirrels are hidden for a week..

at about the same time a group showed up with young kids to make maple syrup from a few of our trees. they have been puttering around for a week or more, used a gas stove to make the syrup from a weeks worth of sap.. young kids 4 or 5 grade ....

well we got a jar of syrup then they said they would like to do it next year again..

In the house, was a bunch of women sewing stuff>... why, i have no idea.. but they did give me lunch..

Then my new dog needed to discover what all those people had been doing in our woods.. so he d**gged me along..

so this old geezer is worn and I can not recall what i was going to post about..

this was my day today and all i got..

Anyone who reads this far,,,, have a very good evening...

Hey NPP!
Not sure how much he wieghs, but his whither hit me about mid thigh, and I'm 5'11. He looks pretty lean, and lanky to me, plus, where they live provides him plenty of room to run. They live in a canyon, so running up, and down the hills gives them lots of exorcise. Her American Bulldog is a truck! Solid muscle from chasing the kids around the canyons.
He's a beautiful dog, or will be when he grows up. He looks kind of like he's in that awkward, in between stage right now. That, and the vet cropped his ears too short in my opinion. He'll be a good one for sure once he matures. Jayme has always been a good animal trainer, and he's well started.
