Why is it a problem that evolution does not answer the deep philosophical questions. Why do you think that looking at and recording the evidence of change diminishes humans? Do you think that doctors, who treat the human body in the same was as vets treat animal bodies (broken bones, stitches, infections), are diminishing humans? If you want answers to the deep questions, don't go to an MD or evolution scientist, but go to religion or philosophy.
As for gravity, although it is well accepted that gravity exists and what its effects are; it is still a theory, just as evolution is!
Again, if you want answers to the questions you raised, you are looking in the wrong place. Don't condemn a scientist, doctor, engineer, or accountant for not being able to give you such answers. That is not their job!

Why are you addressing this to me? I do not condemn anyone of any persuasion for not being able to answer "deep questions". We humans have been seeking answers to deep questions since the beginning. It is the "job" of scientists, philosophers, theologians, even dreamers, to seek the answers.
Gravity, electromagnetism, and the strong and weak nuclear forces are the four fundamental forces that hold this universe together. Theorize all you want about them, but without them we and our universe would not exist.
