The majority of Muslim have only one wife... It requires financial means and the consent of the current wife/wives to marry an additional wife....

So can having one wife or husband.

Might explain where the burqa came from. The rich and powerful men were taking all the women. Put them in a burqa and you might save them from being stolen and the husbands from being k**led trying to hang onto them.

Wow! Got a Chris Matthews thrill running down my legs. These are the kinds of debates I love reading, even if at the end a compromise isn't reached and no middle ground may be found.

At least people are exposed to the differences and can then decide what they believe and which way they want to follow or not follow at all. Plus it's very educational and sharpens the mind.

The following is something I copied down a few years ago. If there are errors, it's my fault. I was taking notes as fast as I could and my note taking was pretty hard to read later.

Jesus and the Koran by an ex-Muslim.

The Koran has 114 chapters and 6666 verses. (Depending on the version)
The Prophet Mohammed is mentioned in four places. (Five, he's called Ahmad once)
The "Prophet" Jesus is mentioned in 25 places. (35, 27 as Jesus and 8 as Messiah)
There are no Muslim women names mentioned in the Koran. (50/50, 24 pious women are mention by family names, not first names)
Only one woman is mentioned in the Koran by name. True, Mariam (Mary) the mother of Jesus.
Chapter 3 mentions the family of Mariam.
Chapter 19 again mentions Mariam.
Mariam never committed a sin and was a lifelong virgin. (not found online)
Chapter 50 v23, Mariam went to Heaven in her physical body. (not found online)

Chapter 3 v45-55 - 10 points concerning Jesus:
1. Jesus is the Word of God. (true)
2. Jesus is the Spirit of God. (true)
3. Jesus is the Christ/Messiah. (true)
4. Jesus spoke at a very early age. (true)
5. Jesus created a live bird from mud and it flew away. (true)
6. Cured a blind man and a man from leprosy. (true)
7. Gave life to dead people. (true)
8. Jesus went to Heaven and is still alive and will return. (not found online)
9. Mohammed is not the Word, or the Spirit, never gave life to anything, never healed anyone, never raised anyone from the dead, and no one knows where he went after death or if he is coming back.
10. Both are prophets, but Jesus is greater than Mohammed.

A trick question he said to ask all Muslims:

Which is greater? The Word or the Creator?
If you say the Word of God is greater, then Jesus is greater than God.
If you say God is greater, how could He create the world without the Word? He spoke and it was so.

If God can see without eyes, hear without ears, talk without a tongue, then He can have a son without a wife.

Chapter 10:94, if you doubt the Koran go read/follow the Torah or people of the book. (true)

The beginning of Islam had four Holy Books, The Torah, Psalms, Bible, and Quran. Officially only the Quran survives today. I have read the things mentioned above as 'not found online' in other places, just can no longer cite or find them.

The rest is based on my "recent" research. I once had better documentation but that data has been lost.

Mohammed died @632. The Al-Aqsa Mosque wasn't built until 638, or 691 depending on who you are reading. During Mohammed's day, Mecca was the location of the Holy Mosque and the furthermost mosque was a two days walk west of Mecca and was called Al-Aska (sp).

A ruler by the name of Caliph Omar or Malik depending on who you are reading ruled Damascus and tried to divert power from Mecca to someplace closer and built the original Al-Aqsa mosque so his people didn't have to travel so far to Mecca each year which was very expensive and dangerous. It eventually fell into ruin.

Then in the 12th century, Saladin made it holy after defeating the Crusaders and rebuilt it.

Muslims still prayed facing Mecca. Later the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem told Hitler that he would support him if after the war he would slay all the Jews in Palestine. His name was "Haj" Amin al-Husseini and was the uncle of Arafat born in Cairo, Egypt. Arafat, named Rauf al-Qudwa-al Husseini moved to Syria and was kicked out, then Jordan and was kicked out, then to Jerusalem where he gained the support of Egyptian president Nassar who established the PLO.

The Imans/Mullahs edit the Quran to suit their purposes. If they didn't there would not be Sunni and Shia sects. A power struggle, between Arab rulers. The only ploy left that unites them is the Dome of the Rock and hatred of Jews. That is starting to crack with Presidents Trump and Netanyahu. Rumors of the Trump peace plan is that control of the Temple Mount will be taken from Jordan and over to the Saudi's. Then the Saudi's will allow a 3rd Temple to be rebuilt on the Temple Mount to co-exist with the Dome of the Rock. Christians believe peace will last as long as Israel has fences. When the fences come down and the anti-Christ desecrates the Temple, the truce and peace are over according to the Bible. The battle of Armageddon is said to be on the plains of Meggido but I think its the staging area of the final battle for Jerusalem. Just my personal opinion.

In my last move, my family Bible and Koran came up missing plus a lot of other books I treasured. Feedback is encouraged.

We would never question a Christian or Jew in this manner, Muslim members of Congress swear an oath to our constitution the same as Christians, Jews and Non Believers do. In the case of the latter it is a solemn confirmation. Below is a list of punishments from the Bible many defy our constitution or law. Would you find it necessary to query every Christian congressman on wether adulterous Americans should be exicuted as is required in their holy text?

Punishments for Sin
20 The Lord said to Moses, 2 “Say to the Israelites: ‘Any Israelite or any foreigner residing in Israel who sacrifices any of his children to Molek is to be put to death. The members of the community are to stone him. 3 I myself will set my face against him and will cut him off from his people; for by sacrificing his children to Molek, he has defiled my sanctuary and profaned my holy name. 4 If the members of the community close their eyes when that man sacrifices one of his children to Molek and if they fail to put him to death, 5 I myself will set my face against him and his family and will cut them off from their people together with all who follow him in prostituting themselves to Molek.

6 “‘I will set my face against anyone who turns to mediums and spiritists to prostitute themselves by following them, and I will cut them off from their people.

7 “‘Consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am the Lord your God. 8 Keep my decrees and follow them. I am the Lord, who makes you holy.

9 “‘Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death. Because they have cursed their father or mother, their blood will be on their own head.

10 “‘If a man commits adultery with another man’s wife—with the wife of his neighbor—both the adulterer and the adulteress are to be put to death.

11 “‘If a man has sexual relations with his father’s wife, he has dishonored his father. Both the man and the woman are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

12 “‘If a man has sexual relations with his daughter-in-law, both of them are to be put to death. What they have done is a perversion; their blood will be on their own heads.

13 “‘If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

14 “‘If a man marries both a woman and her mother, it is wicked. Both he and they must be burned in the fire, so that no wickedness will be among you.

15 “‘If a man has sexual relations with an animal, he is to be put to death, and you must k**l the animal.

16 “‘If a woman approaches an animal to have sexual relations with it, k**l both the woman and the animal. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

17 “‘If a man marries his sister, the daughter of either his father or his mother, and they have sexual relations, it is a disgrace. They are to be publicly removed from their people. He has dishonored his sister and will be held responsible.

18 “‘If a man has sexual relations with a woman during her monthly period, he has exposed the source of her flow, and she has also uncovered it. Both of them are to be cut off from their people.

19 “‘Do not have sexual relations with the sister of either your mother or your father, for that would dishonor a close relative; both of you would be held responsible.

20 “‘If a man has sexual relations with his aunt, he has dishonored his uncle. They will be held responsible; they will die childless.

21 “‘If a man marries his brother’s wife, it is an act of impurity; he has dishonored his brother. They will be childless.

22 “‘Keep all my decrees and laws and follow them, so that the land where I am bringing you to live may not vomit you out. 23 You must not live according to the customs of the nations I am going to drive out before you. Because they did all these things, I abhorred them. 24 But I said to you, “You will possess their land; I will give it to you as an inheritance, a land flowing with milk and honey.” I am the Lord your God, who has set you apart from the nations.

25 “‘You must therefore make a distinction between clean and unclean animals and between unclean and clean birds. Do not defile yourselves by any animal or bird or anything that moves along the ground—those that I have set apart as unclean for you. 26 You are to be holy to me because I, the Lord, am holy, and I have set you apart from the nations to be my own.

27 “‘A man or woman who is a medium or spiritist among you must be put to death. You are to stone them; their blood will be on their own heads.’”
We would never question a Christian or Jew in this... (show quote)

Kevyn...do you knot realize that those severe punishments are what gives us our moral code today? Would you marry your sister. Have sex with your mother? Your father's (2nd) wife? Of course not!! Because we have the laws that God handed down to Moses. Many of the things you mentioned are still illegal today. If you asked the Jews to repudiate k*****g the Canaanites, they would refuse because God instructed them to do it, as they were guilty of all the things you listed (verse 23).

Kevyn, also those things were done at the beginning of the law, and, yes, they were strictly enforced, hence the reason they survive with us today after 2,500 years.
Yes, you are correct, we would never ask those questions to a Christian or a Jew.....or a Hindu...or a Buddhist... or a Mormon, or pretty much any religion on earth, as Islam is about the only one I know of that have honor k*****gs, k**l those other religions as I just mentioned, marry children (no...they don't exactly have sex with them at 9 or 10, but they "thigh" them. If anyone doesn't realize what that means, it's this;
they hunch their penis on the little girl's thigh until they ejaculate. Then at 12 or 13...POW.
Nope, there is no need to ask those questions of ANY other religion that I am aware of. (Keep in mind, I am NOT a world traveler.)

Uh oh, "in the beginning", sounds Biblical. Will catch your comments when I wake up. Your friend JW.

Point me to wh**ever swayed you to think differently and maybe it'll do the same for me. I've read the Koran in English several times but I'm no expert on the Koran. With Hebrew and Arabic, I have to rely on what others say something means. I read and listen to what different Muslims say, then I listen to what some different Jews say what it means, I already know what this Christian believes. But my head and heart haven't turned to stone yet. When I learn I'm wrong and then verify I'm wrong myself, then I change and adapt. I'm guessing you're familiar with the phrase "we all see through the glass darkly". Once I see clearly and feel the Spirit confirm it, I don't change for anyone, even myself. I love everybody, just don't like some people, and I trust no human with 'my' salvation. I trust YHVH, Yeshua, and the Spirit. That's it!

Don't worry Rose. Just trying to be polite. H**e using the sword unless I have to. Blood is hard to get out of the carpet. You and I both know Muslims are having dreams and visions of Jesus and they are the offspring of Abraham too. If it turns out not to work, God's purposes always do. Just pray I say what needs to be said. God loves everyone and He even sent His only Son to ransom all who will listen and obey. He saved us didn't He. I'm sure we didn't deserve it either. I know I deserve death for my sins but I will not suffer the second death. No reply yet, wonder where his research is leading him?

I deserve death as much as anyone. Praise God He sent His Son to save us!

Was about to clean out my trash can and found your unread post. Must have deleted it by accident. Looking forward to a good discussion whenever it happens. Today was a heavy traffic day on OPP. I'm still smiling.

I agree that all members of government should have to answer questions related to their faith...

Allow me to clarrify a few things...

Andre Carson is a member of the Nation of Islam (I believe)... They are not traditional Muslims, anymote than Mormons are traditional Christians... Even a cursory understanding of Islam would reveal this... The author's failure to make this distinction causes me to doubt his authority concerning Islam..

As to the questions...
1. Will you repudiate the Koranic teaching that those who convert from Islam should be k**led?
An excellent question... Only the most extreme followers of Islam interpret it this way...

2. Will you repudiate the Koranic teaching that Jews are “descendants of apes and pigs“?
I***tic question... Can be found nowhere in the Koran... Jews can convert to Islam... Apes and pigs cannot... Enough said..

3. Will you repudiate all “honor” k*****gs?
Excellent question... Needs to be asked of all middle Eastern and East Asian members of congress.... Christians from those areas are well known for such actions as well..

4. Will you repudiate Female G*****l M********n (FGM)?
Excellent question... No connection to Islam... The Koran specifically forbids such acts...
Will you repudiate child brides?

5. Will you repudiate the attacks upon Israel by Hamas and Hezbollah?
Excellent question... Should certainly be asked...

6.Do you believe Israel has a legal and moral right to exist behind safe and definite borders?
Excellent question... Like the definite borders part....

7. Will you repudiate Mohammed’s marriage to six-year-old Aisha?
I***tic question... Would you ask a Jewish member if they repudiate the slaughter of the Canaanites by their ancestors?

8. Will you repudiate the 51 percent of Muslim-Americans who say that Muslims should have the choice of being judged by sharia courts rather than courts of the United States?
Sources please? Very doubtful..

9. Do you consider obeying the Koran more important than following the U.S. Constitution?
Superb question... Most pertinent...

10. Do you believe that followers of other religions are going to Heaven?
No bearing on politics whatsoever...

11. Will you repudiate a man having multiple wives?
Loaded question... Should only apply to Americans... Replace the word "man" with the word "American" and it is fine...

12. Do you believe that imams who advocate violence or finance terrorism should be imprisoned or deported?
Great question...

13. Do you believe homosexuality is sinful and should be illegal?
Fine question..

14. Do you believe that the nearly one-third of Muslim-Americans who agree that violence against those who insult Muhammad or the Koran is acceptable, should be deported?
Sources? Can't deport natural citizens... Only immigrants...

15.Do you believe that the 38 percent of Muslim-Americans who say that ISIS beliefs are Islamic or correct, should be deported?
Sources? See above...

16. Do you believe that non-Muslims are “dogs,” “donkeys,” and “cattle” as recorded in the Koran?
Not in the Koran... I***tic question...

17. Do you believe that all mentally competent Muslims are required to practice jihad which according to the Koran is “holy fighting in the cause of Islam.” My official Koran published in Saudi Arabia reveals this t***h, as do the New Encyclopedia Britannica and the Dictionary of Islam.
Jihad is defined as 'to struggle in the cause of Islam... But an excellent question... Should certainly be asked...
This started out well... br Then became moronic..... (show quote)

I understand natural-born citizen and naturalized citizen.......where does "natural" citizen fit into the
equation? Reason for asking, wondering about the status of John Demjanjuk; was he a naturalized
citizen? He was deported twice.

Apologies... I meant natural-born citizens...

Naturalized citizens should be deported if they engage in terrorism or other violent crimes.. Or executed... Probably bettet to execute them...
