Trump claims he didn't say “Tim Apple,” called the report “f**e news.” Trump also claims he said “Tim Apple” on purpose.

So anyone who doesn't agree with your premise proves your point... Sounds like an excellent premise...

What? It is not a premise: Trump is proven publicly and on recordings to lie and tell contradictory stories. Anyone who doesn't agree he has lied or told contradictory stories, tries to ignore, defend, or attack those who report these elemental t***hs, is the subject. Such reports is not usually the work of what the Right calls "h**ers' but concerned citizens worried about abusing the t***h by the president. He is the representative of what America stands for. All his tweets and speeches and actions reflect on our values, principles, and law. We the people are to monitor those things. That is not h**e; that is love of country.

I agree that he is given to hyperbole and bends the t***h at times... At other times he may go back on statements...
This is true of many politicians...

Reread your opening statement...
None of those things would bother me...
This is simply my opinion...

Lol, unreal. Is that what you really want to say on this topic? Other politicians do it so we can ignore or defend him, or attack those who point out his lies and distorting hyperbole? Usually here someone points out Obama lies, as if that mitigates or somehow annuls Trumps lies. Like you, they will not confront his duplicity but obfuscate or misdirect. You really should rethink this post.

Wish I had a clue what you meant without you stating clearly your objection or question. What about, specifically, my opening statement? None of what things would bother you? This is simply your opinion on what?

And you accuse me of being insulting...

Why do the lies of one politicIan offend you While all of the others go unnoticed?

Thank you, this is the point I have been trying to relay. This forum has become a h**e platform. As you state, no opening for civil debate. However, they are waiting for one of us to reply so they can further their attacks. It was a slip. Who has not made one ? So now we get into 1984 where we have to be careful of each word we use and what we say ? I left this forum for about a year, came back and see that nothing has changed. ADMIN may deem this civil discourse. It is h**e and anyone that tries to reason or offer differing opinions is shut down. This forum is becoming nothing more than for all those here that h**e Trump to post. They live in an echo chamber. Each trying to outdo the other in their hatred. Feeding off each others posts. H**e is consuming. At some point, there is nothing more to h**e. Then the Piranhas start attacking and eating each other.
Thank you, this is the point I have been trying to... (show quote)

The slip isn’t the point lying to cover the slip is the point.

Is given to hyperbole? Are you kidding? Trump is an unapologetic bald faces compulsive liar. He lies when the t***h would better serve him and always has.

You can't see through the h**e to discern t***h from lies.

Your post could have provoked debate... Then you and Kevyn decided to make derisive remarks towards anyone who may have attempted to discuss the thread...

I don't think you are ignorant... Rather well read actually...
But you have a tendency to be hypocritical at times... And to misinterpret comments...

Please point out where I "made derisive remarks towards ANYONE who may have attempted to discuss the thread..." How many posters had responded? Just two, you and PLT sarge.

You said you were sarcastic in your first responses: is that civil?

But, ordinarily, I trust what you say so I went back to see where I may have been uncivil. Though I may not have been very cordial, after the attack by PLT sarge, I was not uncivil at any point.

That is a wholly unfair accusation. Are you saying to criticize one politician that lied I then have to list all the others who lied? It is not that Trump's lies offend me in particular, they offend the office he holds. He is the image of our country we present to the world. But the point of the thread is not about the fact he blatantly lied over something insignificant but asking why much of his "solid base" will deflect (such as bringing up the lies of Obama or other politicians) and ignore, or defend him.

Where did I accuse you of being insulting? I simply asked you if being sarcastic was civil?

None has ever before done it to the degree this one has. Can the guy ever just say oops, I muffed that?

Given to hyperbole and bends the t***h at times, he lies when there is no reason to lie, politicians bend the t***h, I'll give you that it can come with the territory, this president pulls pure BS out of his butt and tries to tell you it's chocolate pudding and you'll love it.

Hyperbole? Bending the t***h? I do not see either in the statement this post is regarding. A couple lies, one to blame the press for not reporting what he said correctly (the media lied about what he said), another to claim he did it on purpose. If he did it on purpose, why would he lie about that initially? If one makes a gaffe, is it really a big deal? Depending on the gaffe, quickly correct it, ignore it, if necessary, apologize for any offense it may have caused, don't lie about it, what is the point of lying about it? It impugns your own integrity and it wasn't going to swing his way. All lying about something so obvious does is show just how little respect he has for the t***h.

Basically what I believe this thread is here to demonstrate is that Trump has no respect for the t***h and he has no respect for Americans in general as he thinks he can lie about something so obvious and so insignificant and we are just stupid enough not to KNOW he is outright lying to our faces. He reminds me of a child that gets caught with chocolate all over their face and questioned as to whether they ate the chocolate cake and even though the evidence is all over their face, they say they haven't. Does having one that has no respect for the t***h as our president make us as Americans appear more honest, do we look as though we have integrity when we accept the lies of our president?

It is one thing to make a mis-statement, it is one thing to say something that isn't necessarily true by mistake or even if you think you may even get away with it, to lie when there is no way ANYBODY is going to believe you, there is NO excuse. All it does is trash your own integrity.
