they can't. for the same reason Acosta got His network to make him part of the white house press party.
technically they aren't denying CNN or any network the coverage, just a specific person. And if the person reporting was a real journalist the story would be the same. no matter who was doing the "reporting".
But certain people keep pretending that Acosta accosting the President was practicable journalism.
but the dems seem to think if critical coverage is not allowed their fairy tale can be sold wholesale.

Dem party nominee pool is a hoot. They all want to win the way most of the gop scrum for pres candidacy for 2016 thought they would- easy nomination to win against bullseye oppo target.

The Democratic National Committee said Wednesday it does not plan to partner with Fox News for debates during the 2020 e******n cycle, citing new reports that the network’s ties to the Trump administration have prevented it from providing unbiased coverage.

CNN almost always has Trump apologists on any panel discussing political issues. More than a few have histories of working for Republican office holders and candidates.
