Have ever see the classic movie inherit the wind. The teacher taught a curriculum (Darwin's theory of Evolution)that was not sanctioned by the governing academic boards and he was put on trial, possibly pending his dismissal. The point is ,is that if a teacher is teaching anything other than the prescribed curriculum they run the risk of being of being terminated. They teach that first and foremost that this a Democracy.
I suggest that you study up and comprehend the meanings and definitions of Republics, democracies Socialisim, c*******m, Mercantilism, Monarchies, dictatorships, ogliarchisim, f*****m,You should learn to understand to distinguish between those doctrines that are social governing doctrines and those that are economic doctrines.
So all the teacher's in the academic world are tea... (

Many nations have the word republic in their name. This does not make them a republic. C*******m, which is what both countries you mentioned were; is diametrically opposed to republicanism. A republic has a bottom up structure. This in ensured by our e*******l college. C*******m is top down, ruled by an elite. Democracy is mob rule by popularity.
A republic and a democracy are identical in every aspect except one. In a republic the sovereignty is in each individual person. In a democracy the sovereignty is in the group.
Republic. That form of government in which the powers of sovereignty are vested in the people and are exercised by the people, either directly, or through representatives chosen by the people, to whome those powers are specially delegated. [NOTE: The word "people" may be either plural or singular. In a republic the group only has advisory powers; the sovereign individual is free to reject the majority group-think. USA/exception: if 100% of a jury convicts, then the individual loses sovereignty and is subject to group-think as in a democracy.]
Democracy. That form of government in which the sovereign power resides in and is exercised by the whole body of free citizens directly or indirectly through a system of representation, as distinguished from a monarchy, aristocracy, or oligarchy. [NOTE: In a pure democracy, 51% beats 49%. In other words, the minority has no rights. The minority only has those privileges granted by the dictatorship of the majority.]
Socialism comes in various types and forms. A common point in socialist rule is collectivism. In the extreme cases, such as strict c*******m, there is no private property but all is owned collectively (public). In a f*****t state; there is some private property, at least in name. But the state can take it for redistribution for no reason. All businesses must produce what the state dictates, the amount the state dictates, sold or distributed to who the state dictates, employ who the state dictates, and can have any product or profit confiscated at any time for no reason. This is NOT what is considered a private business in the free world. In fact virtually all aspects of the people's live are subject to total government control. Up to and including reproduction. The government can even tell you who to mate, require a******ns for failure to obey their mating orders, and mandate sterilization for those considered less desirable. In the less extreme democratic socialist states there is often a combination of free market economy with far reaching socialist programs paid for by the capitalists.
I don't blame the teachers. Just as in your example, they have very little control over what subjects are taught in public schools. Civics and history are rarely taught. In fact I haven't seen a strictly civics textbook in an public school for decades. The most used 'so called' civics textbook in high schools is Magruder's American Government. I've included a link to a critique of the book.
https://slate.com/culture/2002/09/america-s-best-selling-civics-textbook-poll-tested-and-super-sized.htmlAnd the textbooks labeled ''history" are often a combination of social sciences and ideology propaganda. When there is any history it is mostly revisionist and full of r****t hatred. Things like painting Thomas Jefferson as a r****t and raper of s***es. While anyone actually checking records could find that when Thomas Jefferson inherited his plantation, he attempted to free all his s***es and even began having manumission papers drawn up. But the plantation was in debt and Virginia law declared that any s***e freed could be taken as debt payment and sold at auction. Due to Jefferson's attempt, a new law was passed forbidding s***e manumission within the state. As for the story of Sally, she was a child companion of his little girl. After he had been in France for some time, his daughter and her companion were sent over. They were about 8 years old. As for the descendants, DNA testing traced them to the uncle of Thomas Jefferson. But these are the sorts of things in high school history books.
