You gave yourself away. If too much importance is given to it, it means a whole bunch of people believe and trust in it. If you believe atheist outnumber believers you're in for a very rude awakening. Christians and Jews just don't cause a stink about everything like perpetually aggrieved non-believers.

Most relevant studies indicate that about 14% of the world claim to be true atheists -while 86% believe in some form of a 'higher power' such as God, the Almighty, Buddha, etc. Yet, every time a so-called atheist finds himself in a serious predicament the first words out of their mouths is usually "Oh God......!" hmmm.....

Atheists have been waging a war on the Bible, making bogus “separation of church and state” claims.

But this time they’ve crossed the line.

Because they just demanded the Bible be removed from the one place it belongs.

Last year, the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Manchester, N.H. put up a display to honor American POWs and veterans that are missing in action from World War II.

The display showed a Bible on a table with dinner utensils, but an empty chair where the POW or MIA veteran would be.

The Military Religious Freedom Foundation, an atheist group, complained about the Bible in the display.

The atheist group then pressured the hospital to remove the Bible from the display, and the hospital caved and moved the Bible to a glass display elsewhere in the hospital.

But now the Military Religious Freedom Foundation is saying that is still not enough and that the Bible needs to be removed completely.

Christian Headlines writes:

The Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Manchester, N.H., last year allowed a museum-like “Missing Man Display” to be assembled to honor the nation’s POWs and missing veterans.

The display involved an empty chair at a kitchen table, with a plate, drinking glass, candle, flower, American f**g and salt shaker sitting atop a table cloth, WMUR reported. A Bible that was carried by a POW in World War II also was part of the display, but it was removed after a complaint from the Military Religious Freedom Foundation.

Veteran Paul Martin and his Northeast POW-MIA Network were in charge of the display.

“That Bible is not just a religious artifact — that some people would say they’re stuffing religion down my throat,” Martin told WMUR. “What it means is this guy held on to a lot of faith and hope, family and trust in this nation that they would do everything they possibly could to bring him home.”

The hospital t***sferred the Bible from the Missing Man Display, which is behind ropes out in the open, to a protected case behind glass. That is just as problematic to the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, which says 14 veterans have complained.

“That is still a Christian Bible,” Mikey Weinstein, president of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, told WMUR. “It is still promoting — particularly in the surrounding aspect of the POW-MIA remembrance, one of the most sacred things you could do in the military — one faith over another faith.”

This shows the real issue with atheist organizations like the MRFF.

As soon as they get their way, their list of demands grow longer.

In this case, it wasn’t enough that the Bible was removed from the display honoring POWs and veterans that are MIA. They didn’t want the Bible to be seen at all.

Atheists don’t merely want to make Christianity a footnote of history, they want to blot it out entirely.

And to do that they are trying to write a false version of American history that doesn’t include the Bible being a critical part of the fabric of our society.

But as much as these radical atheists don’t want to admit it, the Bible was a part of standard carry for World War II soldiers.

Many of them carried steel-covered Bibles in their left chest pockets to protect their hearts – literally and figuratively.

So the best way the display could honor POWs and MIA veterans would be to give homage to the book that brought solace to countless soldiers through the darkest time in human history.

The lunatics in our society will not be pacified until they’ve destroyed us. We must take a stand and back them down. We have rights, too. Why are we giving in to every demand? We’ve been doing this for too long. We have rights, as well.

Remember the NT supersedes the OT.
Why do you atheists care? Just mind your own business and let Christians mind theirs.

PJT: the NT actually does not supersede the OT. The NT "proves" the OT. Look at how many times even Jesus himself references scriptures from the OT while teaching the people that they "cannot keep the laws of the OT" -which were given as instruction and as a guide to the "coming" of Jesus. There are still a huge amount of things to be learned from the OT - not just 'world history' -but actual teachings that we can still benefit from today. Consider the story of Joseph in Genesis being sold into s***ery by his own brothers -yet when Joseph rose to prominence under Pharaoh, he did not turn on his brothers, but rather forgave them and welcomed them with tears and open arms. That one story (as does all of the OT) pointed to the fact that even today, we must learn to forgive others their shortcomings if we expect God to forgive us for our shortcomings.

ZERO!!! If you read it instead of listening to your teachers you would know better. Now prove to me what part of the Bible is in error or not inerrant, scripture and verse none of what you have been told.

I am a teacher and a Christian, although these days when someone says ‘Christian’, they mean ‘fundamentalist’, which I am certainly not.

One of the problems I find with that piece is the notion that the Bible is inerrant and infallible, which it most certainly is not. How many of the OT prohibitions and alleged commands from God have been quietly discarded as obsolete or inconsistent with Jesus’ teachings?

"Think not that I come to abolish the law and the prophets, I come not to abolish, but to fulfill."

What do you reckon Jesus meant by that?

Next question: There are 324 Messianic prophesies throughout the OT, these prophesies precede the birth of Jesus by as much as 10 centuries. If you combine them all into one coherent narrative, they provide a complete synopsis of his short visit on earth--who His parents would be, where He would be born and under what conditions, His physical appearance, how His ministry would unfold and to what purpose, how He would be received, who would oppose Him and who would follow, His condemnation, punishment, death on the cross, and His resurrection. Without exception Jesus fulfilled every one of them to the letter.

Peter Stoner, a professor of mathematics, calculated the probability of one man fulfilling just 48 of the most notable prophesies. His findings are astounding. The chance of one single man fulfilling only 48 Messianic prophecies found in the Old Testament would be 1 in 10^157*—to understand, that would be like the chance of finding, on the very first attempt, one specific electron out of all of the electrons in all the known mass of the entire universe! 1 followed by 157 zeros.

1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000.

Pretty impressive, huh? And, we still have another 276 Messianic prophesies to consider.

How do you account for that? Oh, great theologian and Bible scholar.
